If you could see yourself though someone else’s eyes for ten minutes Who would you choose

I would choose my Dh as we have been together 27 years and I would love to see what he sees.

Or someone like my next door neighbour for a more objective opinion

nobody. This is horrible prospect for me. The less noticed I am the better. <<shudder>>

Purplecatshopaholic · 13/01/2026 22:02

Hmm, not sure I would want to. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing sometimes, and once I knew stuff like that I couldn’t unknow it if it wasn’t nice! I subscribe to the thought that it’s none of your business what others think of you, lol.

CarrieMoonbeams · 13/01/2026 22:07

If it didn't have to be a person, I'd love to see myself through my dogs' eyes. The way the love just beams from their eyes melts my heart - I wish I was as amazing as they think I am!

AndMilesToGo · 13/01/2026 22:08

Absolutely no one! What a horrifying idea!

TokyoSushi · 13/01/2026 22:09

My cat or dog, but absolutely not another person *shudders

MonTueLife · 13/01/2026 22:11

Maybe im just nosy but I would be intrigued. Obviously I may not like what I see

My mum's cat - no humans thank you!

FrangipaniBlue · 13/01/2026 22:17

my son because I’d like to know if he thinks I’m the awesome inspiration to him that I think I am 😂😂

Greengreengras · 13/01/2026 22:22

My children. They think the world of me and follow me everywhere the can go with me if they can. All I’m doing is mundane boring stuff or a food shop. What do they see that I don’t about myself?

But which child! Cause the results could vary wildly depending on which child and what time of day lol

My best mate since the age of 11. I know she sees me with crystal clarity, warts and all, and she loves me anyway.

ViciousCurrentBun · 14/01/2026 00:51

That is a great question. I would like it to be the person that whoever genuinely loved me the most. That’s hard as there are different kinds of love. It’s interesting to ponder who it would be. Through their eyes, I would imagine for some there would be some shocks.

HoseGoblin · 14/01/2026 00:56

My husband, because somehow he can look at me sprawled on the sofa in Land Before Time pjs that definitely have some questionable stains on them, stuffing babybels into my face, with yesterday's mascara clumping my lashes, and my hair giving Worzel Gummidge and Hagrid's love child... And smile softly and call me the most beautiful lady in the land.

I want to understand the level of insanity he's operating on to be honest.

RollingValleys · 14/01/2026 00:57

After the day I've had today, I'd love to see myself for those 10 minutes through the eyes of either of my deceased parents, who both loved me absolutely, and despite my faults, would root for me and want the best for me. 'D'P is falling fucking short on that front today.

Yeah I’d love to know what my cat sees when she looks at me. Or maybe I’d rather not know 🤣

I think it would be interesting to choose someone you don’t get on with. I don’t mean Simone you have but you know that work colleague/ school gate mum that just rubs you up the wrong way.

My partner probably, even after all these years I still wonder what he even saw in me besides music taste and smartshow 3d videos with puppies I used to send him after a long day at work 😂

the80sweregreat · 14/01/2026 06:59

I’d love to with two ex colleagues who both seemed to hate me from the off before I even spoke.
I often wonder what I did to them!

I doubt you did anything. It would just be their insecurities at the end of the day. (But yes would be interesting to know the exact reasons)

OneOfEachPlease · 14/01/2026 11:15

This is either my worst nightmare or possibly the solution to some of my anxiety. But is it worth the risk??

But seriously, it would be quite nice to see myself through my kids eyes! I think that they probably have a nicer view of me than I realised!

Would be interesting to see it change over time as well

I do feel it would be interesting to get someone else’s point of view. I was always taught to do this, but sadly people don’t often see things how you do or how you feel about it.
