What’s your 2026 mantra

I read somewhere on another thread:

”no point in walking round with your umbrella up incase it pisses down” or something along those lines.

This really resonated with me as I tend to worry about things that are probably pretty unlikely to happen / be as bad as I expect.

Anyone else got something similar?

2026 is the year I’m having whatever is the opposite of a professional crisis of confidence. A professional glow up, perhaps. In my late forties, I finally have time, confidence and brain space to offer more to my own practice and my profession, so maybe my mantra is:

This is the year I choose to sit at the big boys’ table 🙂

I like this, I’m going to steal if I may.

one that’s resonated with me is that I saw on another thread was - Do no harm, take no shit.

Sometimes work can be tricky and this reminder helps put it into perspective that I do not need to put up with poor behaviour from others.

regarding controlling anxiety.

You can let her (your anxious side) come in the car, but you don’t have to let her drive.

Keep calm, you're retiring in December.

Not my circus, not my monkey(s).
I've carried this one forward from last year and it's helped me ignore stuff that I can't do anything about that would previously have stressed me out.

Stop stressing about endless shit and brush it off
Stop caring what others think, they don't walk in my shoes and probably never will so they're clueless and some might need some things spelling out this year
Find the small joys even in the shittiest things
Kill the backstabbing person with kindness
Go do what I want to do, stop waiting for my dh because he'd happily spend his entire life staring at a screen. I'm the only one who can make me happy

We're here for a good time, not a long time.
