I don’t watch loose women, but saw the clips on fb so watched the whole segment

so then I googled it to see if others found her pov shocking, then saw she’s been suspended and being investigated by the bbc for bullying

anyway just wondering if you saw it and what you thought ?

I’ll see if I can find the clips to share on here

Paedophile apologist
I read an article recently saying he was trying to reinvent himself and get back broadcasting. A bit of a bold move, I doubt anyone would touch him now

I mean giving him a suspended sentence what message does this send out ?

that basically it ok
as even if you get caught you’ll get away with it

it no some wonder people never report these kinda things

not quite sure what he did but if she's correct, the BBC are trying to silence her to save face.

You’re not quite sure what he did?

You should probably look it up then.

Yes this is what prompted them giving their views and opinions today

because it’s being dramatised

StarfromtheNorth · 09/01/2026 01:59

I’m hoping the drama will bring to light how awful it was he was let off with a suspended sentence and the damage to the victims and families

Interestingly I’ve just listened to something which said the BBC ‘call it out’ scheme (set up in the wake of the Huw Edwards scandal) was ironically used to call her out. It mentioned something about shouting and screaming in a bbc meeting, which she categorically denies. I don't trust the bbc so automatically assume the worst of the bbc.

HeddaGarbled · 09/01/2026 02:05

I’m assuming it was a suspended sentence because the video was sent to him rather than actively sought?

TheAutumnCrow · 09/01/2026 02:06

Sentencing guidelines innit.

Womanofcustard · 09/01/2026 02:32

Ah, BBC again! I was regular listener to KA’s morning show on BBC Scotland. She always seemed very even handed on the phone-in. However,I think she is GC. That wouldn’t go down very well in BBC Scotland! So there was HW hiding in plain sight, but she gets suspended for’bullying’ a staff member!

I don't watch Loose Women but watched the clip you posted...omg I can't believe their take on it! Denise the only one who seemed disgusted.

'Oh but if he's friendly to someone he sees at his local shop and waves to people on a bike ride then he's not ALL bad.'

Fuck right off.

Strawberrryfields · 09/01/2026 04:05

Agree with Denise. From that clip the others seemed to be struggling to reconcile the idea of the person they thought they knew and who they actually are. I get that to a degree e.g. disgraced actors or musicians who produced amazing work but can the art be separated from the artist after learning who they really are.

But I actually think it’s pretty clear that someone is a ‘baddie’ in cases like this. Even if 80% of the time they’re being ‘good’ it doesn’t negate the abhorrent 20%. 20% is enough to make them bad. The nature of the crime carries significant weight, it’s not like they’ve dodged a bus fare.

The only thing I agreed with is that it does seem very soon for the victims to make a dramatisation? Though I wonder if it could shine a spotlight back on the case? I had no idea he’d gotten away with a suspended sentence. The sentencing laws are all over the place.

Celestialmoods · 09/01/2026 04:23

Her comment about goodies s d baddies was clearly not directly about HE. It was said straight after the other presenter talked about other dramas that had been made following real life events.

She was hosting a conversation about the programme that has been made, not discussing the case itself. Nothing she said came across as apologist.

She made a good point that it seems very soon to be making this programme.

StrawberryJangle · 09/01/2026 04:33

I happened to catch some of that and didn't know if I'd got the entire gist... As above, KA seemed to think that he was okay because he was friendly enough (or something). Denise was quite rightly outraged.
A paedophile is a paedophile and if they've acted on their urges - as Huw Edwards has done then sentencing should be custodial at a minimum.

I might have to rewatch as it did sound very paedophile apologist from Kaye Adams.

I saw the picture of Martin Clunes earlier on GMB I think... The likeness was uncanny. What a wonderful actor he is.

StarfromtheNorth · 09/01/2026 09:44

What is also wild is the U.K. sentencing
people get actual prison time for stealing or fraud things or things like or even for what they post

yet all the time people get let off for this kinda thing
