Need to get away for a couple of days

I’m fed up of everything, and like the idea of getting away for a couple of days on my own. The problem is that I find it so hard to sleep on my own as I’m used to being next to my DH, and also I worry I just wouldn’t feel safe at a hotel on my own.

A few years ago I went on this yoga retreat thing where we all stayed at a farmhouse building with individual rooms and even though I felt safe as part of the group, I still couldn’t sleep very well on my own, and anyway I don’t feel like doing yoga. I just want to do nothing for a couple of days as I’m fed up.

Is there any way around this? Does anyone have any ideas please?

Get a really long pillow (like the ones pregnant women use) and put that in bed next to you as a surrogate DH?

Have you got any friends or family who might be up for going with you?

I don’t particularly like staying in hotels on my own. I have to do it for work though. I’ll take a door chuck to put under the door, you can also buy special locks from amazon. It’s less I think someone is going to break in but keys do get messed up and someone might come in accidentally . I sleep with a low light on, so take a nightlight if you think that would help. It gets better the more you do it. Also some hotels are better with single females than others….travel lodge not so much…nice spa hotel maybe.
