Bought a bag of frozen veg at supermarket today. Got home about to put away and noticed some sellotape on the bag.

Further inspection I could see that there was a rip to the bag and looks like it had been taped back together.

I returned it as you just dont know if the product had been contaminated etc

The store assistant I spoke to on arrival ( no customer service desk) said ah yes that was me, I ripped the bag so sellotaped it up, its fine.

I said but I dont know if any contamination has got in the bag and I'd like it exchanging. He said, its fine I taped it up straight away...I was so shocked at the blaise response!

Am I being unreasonable?

No, I wouldn't be happy with that.

It's annoyed me so much. No apology and had to ask several times for a replacement.

Yeah I'd want an exchange as well.

I used to work in a supermarket if it was a bag with individual bags inside it should have been put in a reduced section or if not it should have been wasted, it shouldn’t have been put back with the rest of them.

Im amazed that he thought it was ok to do that in the first place and that he didn’t instantly offer to exchange it or refund you. I find supermarkets in particular are very quick to refund.

YANBU

I'd send an email to customer service.

That’s appalling service!!
