Anyone Got A Small Amount Of Weight To Lose?

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 02/01/2026 11:46

I’ve lost nearly 5 stone but just can’t shift the last few pounds. I managed to get to 11 stone 2 ( 2 pounds off target) but now at 11 & a half stone. Christmas hasn’t helped although I have never been a big eater by any means & I don’t drink. Anyone want to hop on board?

Well I have a bit more to lose than you, but I know how frustrating the last bit can be.

But if Christmas hasn't cancelled out all of your weightloss, you're doing well 😆

Wait, also, WELL DONE for losing five stone!! Amazing feat 👏

I've lost three stone, you just have to keep grinding on!

I’m down to the last 9lbs to lose, I’ve already lost a stone. Well done on the 5 stone weightloss, that’s an amazing achievement.

Thank you for the kind words - I look at photos from when I was 16 stone & find it difficult to believe I ever let myself get that overweight. I’m only 5ft 2.5” so was classed as morbidly obese 😢
One of my main downfalls is skipping meals then grabbing unhealthy snacks so I’ve started the New Year by trying to have breakfast every morning. Biscuits are another. DH calls me the biscuit hoover! He’s like that with cheese. I have never seen anyone cut such huge slices!
The other thing I’m terrible for is picking at leftovers on my plate for ages instead of just taking it away when I’ve had enough - I can take hours to finish a meal sometimes. Also, I will have pudding even though I was full earlier or I will have a chocolate bar late at night which also isn’t good because of the caffeine. I’ve noticed I crave sweet stuff more since I’m not getting sugar from alcohol but I quit drinking nearly 2 years ago & that’s easing gradually.

Yes I’d like to lose 1/2 a stone currently 9.13 would love to get to 9.6 or 9.7 I have been at 9.8 in the autumn but really struggle maintaining

Me. 7-10lbs but it will not come off. Feeling very deflated.

The last bit always needs the biggest push. Fasting and moving about even more than usual helps. A good podcast and a walk when you've had your morning coffee or tea works wonders. Keep your tummy full with warm fluids, but not so much that you feel bloated. It's very discouraging when it won't come off, but I have been there many times and we are of a similar size.

When you've lost a lot of weight, your body adjusts and you need to get it working harder than when you started because it's easier to lose weight when you start; your body is heavier and the chemical changes help with the initial loss.

Have a really close look at what you're eating. Plain salad with a dash of dressing is amazing when you're hungry, as are cherry tomatoes. Cut a cucumber up and make a tuna dip with quark and a touch of very light mayonnaise. Just have a spoonful on the side and make the cucumber your meal. It's a bit drastic, but it worked for me.

You can do this!

Hi folks - hope you’re all having a positive start to the week. I had malted wheats with warm milk for breakfast but skipped lunch then ended up snacking on chocolate hobnobs & a Mr Kipling strawberry tart! Still, being relatively healthy with salmon fillet for tea. Not sure about the dauphinoise potatoes though!
