I followed tiktok Amy Astrid last January for her 1% easier series and saw her first one of this year today. I found her tips last year so helpful such as buying all the greeting cards you need in one go and also taking photos of outfits so it's easier to chose in a rush. So coming here to ask if anyone has any other tips that are easy to do upfront or gadgets that make life a bit easier during the year?

We don’t have seperate towels for swimming any more.

Take your half used one from the bathroom, swim, dry, wash - voila one less washing load per week.

Probably my best parenting decision ever was to tie a hairbrush onto the bathroom radiator. It’s probably stopped about 50 percent of our getting-out-of-the-house rows.

Pure brilliance.

We have toothbrushes and toothpaste downstairs as upstairs because of that last minute out the door thing.

Every night before I go to bed I put a timer on my phone for 5 minutes and declutter my bedroom. Just 5 minutes a day to clear the floor drobe, books back in bookshelves etc.

chat GPT does my meal planning and shopping lists.

Put a load on at night, dryer in the morning then put away by end of day. 1 load is manageable.

Empty dishwasher while coffee is brewing in the morning.

Happy days

I got a housekeeping diary last year. I filled in jobs for every month including upcoming birthdays and bigger house jobs. I also put in weekly jobs assigned to certain days. I found I was unable to relax at home and was constantly checking what needs to be done. This way I feel on top of things and the diary works for the next year. Now i can see for example that in January i have an annual admin job to do, one card to send, an insurance renewal, all kids dental check ups and a deep clean of one room.

My gadget is a 3 tier clear stacking rotating dressing table tidier from Amazon, I can get nearly all of my hair stuff, face stuff and perfumes on it, easy to see, swirls around, tidy and £20. I can also just lift it off in one go to clean too instead of moving individual bottles backwards and forwards.

Today I received the smart plugs from Amazon and set up all the lamps in the house which saves me turning them on/off each day. Also, ordered a few kitchen utensils that I have been working around not having and finally moved the battery stash on the house to a more suitable storage area.
