I have 2. First is my coffee machine. It grinds the beans, so I can have a freshly brewed coffee each morning. I love it!
Second one is a prize from postcode lottery. It's a rechargeable hot water bottle, and it's been a game changer! Especially useful for when I'm cold watching DS play rugby....

Reformer Pilates, I am addicted and go 4/5 times a week.
It was from a post I read on here that said reformer Pilates was the thing that gave their body the most definition and it’s true. I can see my arm muscles now and my core is strong.

It was a Probreeze 20l. Got it in a sale earlier this year. Pretty nifty, on wheels, can self drain unit tried that since never gets that full) and has a specific laundry setting. Plus a timer so can set for auto switch off too. Basic probably but fits the bill.
Think I paid about £130/140 but currently on Amazon for £151. Bought mine direct from probreeze but they’re currently £190 on their website. I must have had a bargain!!

@Advocodo I also bought a Probreeze directly from them, not sure if it is the same one (Omnidry 20l) but it has a timer, humidistat, speed control and different modes, all controlled from an app which works better than any of my other apps for smart appliances. Which Best Buty, bought as a Black Friday deal plus an extra voucher it was £137. I’ve had basic dehumidifiers before but this does everything you could possibly need.

From Brand It Ltd, Essex, online order, on the 24th of December, I ordered 5 Beechfield Morf hats, the ''tubes'' that can be worn in a variety of different ways. They arrived on the 2nd of January.

Original White B900, Recycled French Navy BC915R, Original Burgundy B900, Original Florescent Yellow B900, and Original Florescent Pink B900.

£3.15 each except the BC915R which was £3.99. = £16.59 but with Standard £9.65 for P+P, Total excl. VAT £26.24 and VAT £5.25, the entire lot came to £31.49.

They're worth every penny! They're literally the most comfortable hats I've ever worn!

I'm wearing the pink at the moment and will be ordering some more colours soon!

@TheeNotoriousPIG Please tell me more about your laser treatment for rosacea. Are you having it done by a dermatologist or in a salon? And if you don’t mind, how much is it costing?
Since becoming perimenopausal, I’ve developed fetching red stripes along my cheekbones that I’d love to see the back of.

She is a dermatologist, but it's taken me three attempts to find a type of laser that works! I tried a bigger chain company, and after several sessions, their laser had made no difference whatsoever. I can't remember the fee for rosacea alone, but at the newer place, it's £125 a session for that and laser hair removal on my legs, so obviously not too much! It does take a while, though, with sessions every 6-8 weeks. Get some aloe vera gel before you go, and a bag of peas at the ready in the freezer for when you come home! If you leave the swelling, you'll end up with chipmunk cheeks until it calms down again.

I do not miss my fetching pink/red splotches that people tried to minimise as being "like natural blusher"!

That’s really useful info - thank you! £125 a throw is much more reasonable than I’ve been quoted - am guessing you’re not in London?

Edited

I have never even been above ground in London, so no! 😂

I'm nowhere near a big city, which might be why it is much more reasonable than whatever you've been quoted. Do try the smaller establishments, though- they tend to offer more reasonable quotes, and usually a more personalised service!

@Myfluffyblanket
I think it was you asking about replacement hips? I had mine done in the summer & was back home the same day! Brilliant, & hydrotherapy sessions in a lovely warm pool at the hospital for about a month afterwards. :-)

Thank you, yes it was me.
I saw the GP on Tuesday and have just received an appointment for xray hips and pelvis on 12th January.
@justasking111, in case we don't cross paths again, I wish you and your left hip all the best in March.

cornflakecrunchie · 03/01/2026 15:53

@Myfluffyblanket All the best with your X Rays etc, there was almost nothing left of my hip when it was X Rayed.. no wonder I'd had lots of pain! I hope all goes smoothly for you, too.
You too @justasking111

That's excellent news. You'll have a better idea of what you're dealing with if it's skeletal.

My best purchase in 2025 was my adorable parson terrier puppy Ruby. I've met new friends while out walking. Its been excellent for my mental health. Definitely one of my best buys ever.

Whatnottowear51 · 03/01/2026 18:19

The snoozeband dupe/knock off? Any recommendations?

godmum56 · 03/01/2026 18:49

a load of seriously soft clothing to wear while I am getting over shingles. Only Cotton Traders and Cyberjammies because my budget has limits but it made a shedload of difference.

oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends · 03/01/2026 18:57

My new home, worth every £k.

Beemail2 · 03/01/2026 19:03

Would it be possible for you to give some idea of the cost of doing this. Sounds great

My automatic car, seriously love driving it and will never go back to a manual now.

BalletBee · 03/01/2026 19:14

Fashion Wise :
Blundstone boots. I don't know why it took me so long to buy some.

Under Prairie Moon dresses, I bought two at a Festival and felt like a Boho Goddess. They're total dopamine dressing for me.

Home Wise :

Changing our heating to Cast Iron Radators, saved so much money on heating, and they look lovely!
I don't have a link as we just got some off marketplace and repainted them!

I’ve been wearing Blundstones with most things since the mid 90s! They’re brilliant. A pair lasts me about 5 years and I replace immediately!

Wool duvet. Wish I'd bought one years ago.

And a USB ring light which clips onto my laptop for Zoom calls.

Can I ask which brand of duvet? Would you recommend?

My trip to Africa.. I will never forget the sunsets, being so close to animals, the people, sundowners at sunset.. it was utter utter magic.

I would love to do this - its my dream holiday to go to Africa and on safari

Ninja airfryer.
An gadget that you charge and it pumice stones your feet. I stand at work and get corns and calluses and I used to go to a chiropodist a few times a year to get them removed but now I don't need to.

What is your foot gadget please?

momager22 · 03/01/2026 19:41

Period pants as a back up with tampons (v heavy periods)

Arran knit jumper from vinted

My new mattress from John Ryan by Design.
Mattress topper and duvet from The Wool Room
Dual pillow from Aeyla.
Brushed cotton bedding from The Secret Linen Store.

My bed is now the most soft, comfortable and cosy place to be. It brings me joy every night and morning, best money I've ever spent.

I bought a Simba mattress topper, Woolroom duvet and Bedfolk cotton bedding with their quilt as an extra.
I too could happily stay in bed forever!
