No heating hot water over a week

I’m not sure what to do, in tears because I’m so fed up and really seems no end in sight. Everyday I wake up freezing, I’m in bed with multiple blankets and layers still too cold to sleep.

Would I be stupid to contact local MP (never contacted them before so don’t know etiquette)
It’s just I’m so desperate now and nowhere else to turn. My housing association simply does not care and continues to ignore my emails or worse still if I get through to phone line they will lie about sending engineer out but no one turns up

I don’t know how this large company is still allowed to operate seeing as they’ve done this to many others (awful google reviews and even disabled/vulnerable people left without heating/hot water for ages)

I'm with Clarion, see my thread about how I am currently sitting here with my kitchen ceiling in pieces all over the kitchen floor! I told them my ceiling was leaking 10 days ago. The emergency plumber etc should have arrived by 9:30 and i'm still waiting. They are absolutely shit.

Go with one of those housing disrepair solicitors. That's what I'm going to do about this. You can Google and find someone.

I’d rather keep my anonymity, only reason I haven’t got in touch with media yet.

I also put a formal complaint to HA last week, in writing it was acknowledged that it was being investigated - says I will be contacted about it in the next 10 working days but may require up to 20 working days depending on complexity.

Housing ombudsman won’t make a formal decision until I’ve exhausted HA complaint process.

A vulnerable tenant could die of hypothermia before even halfway through this crap process

I’m really sorry to hear, but also not surprised - maybe I’m naive but I don’t understand why there aren’t any laws/regulations to prevent companies behaving like this, how do Clairon keep getting away with this

Good luck! Sounds like a great idea, unfortunately don’t think I could afford solicitor

That's sad to read, you're really going through it and I hope you sort it soon.

You shouldn't have to do this but just a suggestion, you can buy a 10l 'tea urn' electric 3 pin plug, for about £100 on eBay. At least that way you'll have boiling water when you need it for dishes, washing etc

Thank you
Unfortunately £100 is out of my budget but does sound really handy. I got a budget friendly gym pass instead (thanks to new years offer first month was only £20 but will cost me £50 from next month🥲)

It’s now been over 3 weeks so doubt they’ll sort it within the month

Because there is no accountability

Close to approaching 4 weeks and counting without resolution

My local council environmental health team has since written to Clarion for me (and got back to me far quicker than Clarion too 😅)

Local MP office has kindly contacted me to say they’ve made representations on my behalf too.

Supposed to have an engineer appointment today but again no show, snd no communication either as to why no one turned up, I’ve waited all day (this is the fourth time they’ve not turned up without a reason).

[email protected] is the email for the CEO at Clarion. Took me 2 seconds to find it. Don't bother complaining to the little guys, go straight to the top.

@NoHotwater

I'd definitely do this first thing in the morning

it's just not good enough. Not by a long way! Yes, you're not 80 & frail, but you still deserve heat!

Thanks guys, unfortunately not heard back (not surprised).
Still no resolution…

Clarion still haven’t replied to my formal complaint which was raised on 31st December. Because of this I can’t get housing ombudsman involved yet

Ive always thought this is an absolutely ridiculous process. Takes far too long and someone could die of hypothermia while waiting.
