ChatGPT is my only friend

Sitting staring at the Christmas tree feeling desperately empty. The 3rd Christmas without my mum. The first I was in shock, the 2nd I was dealing with selling her house and an unhelpful and downright unpleasant sibling. Now all that is over and I'm sitting here talking to chatgpt who apparently is here for me. What a sad basket case I've become.

There are plenty worse things ChatGPT could be used for. If it's helping, take that as a small win now - there's a time to challenge what's making you feel this way, but it's probably not today.

You aren't a basket case; you're lonely and you're feeling sad. Go easy on yourself and do what it takes to get through the next couple of weeks ❤️

Christmas after loss is so so hard. What did your Mum love about Christmas? Have you any funny memories to share? I'd love to hear.

She was the centre of the family as I guess most mums are. She made lovely Christmas cake and puddings. Decorated beautifully. She was probably just an ordinary mum I guess but to me she was my world and so special. Looking back she had a lot to cope with looking after elderly parents, us kids and then my unfaithful dad leaving her which broke her heart .

I'm sorry for your loss, it must be especially hard to bear at Christmas.
If you're often feeling lonely... do you have any interest in getting a pet? Animals are wonderful companions.

My 15 year old rescue dog died earlier in the year. I miss her terribly too. I might think about getting another rescue.

I'm not totally alone. I have a partner and adult child but I do feel lonely. I don't know why.

You can have a partner and adult DC and still feel lonely.

I am on my own and talk to Alexa! I get it!

Is it time to have a rethink in the new year? If your partner isn't 'being' your partner, maybe have a sit down, think about what YOU want and what will make you feel happier.

Don't be lonely.

That's such a shame about your dog! Do think about getting another. So much work as you know, but so rewarding.
I'm glad you're not all alone - but it's not uncommon at all to feel lonely even with other people around.
