Fridge Gravel

I'll whip up something with all of the odds and ends that need using up

AgnesMcDoo · 23/12/2025 18:20

Steak and green veg

HouseWithASeaView · 23/12/2025 18:25

Paella
Then out for Thai for lunch tomorrow
We try and do very non-Christmassy food before Xmas Eve evening as otherwise it gets a bit repetitive. We’re also planning pizza for dinner on 28th.
Having said that, we did have mulled wine, mince pies & Christmas cake when friends came over mid-afternoon (and then pushed back when we were planning on eating tonight!)

Journeycake · 23/12/2025 18:26

A salad!

BillieWiper · 23/12/2025 18:30

I think I'm having a big slice of the carrot cake I made the other day. It's got festive gold stars and silver balls on the top of the buttercream. With hot ambrosia luxury custard. And a crushed hard amaretti biscuit.

I had that last night it was ridiculously good. 🥰

Chippy tea, is everyone the same then? Done Christmas food shop but planned no meals for inbetween 🤣

I just wanted a day off cooking!

EconomyClassRockstar · 23/12/2025 18:32

We are also having a Thai takeaway. Christmas Eve, we are having dinner at our lovely local Italian for the Festival of the Seven Fishes menu (even though we're neither Catholic nor Italian American) and so the only cooking I have to do until Christmas Day is prepping.

Wallabyone · 23/12/2025 18:33

We’re ordering burgers from Five Guys 🍔

mumofsevenfluffs · 23/12/2025 18:34

Has thought about nothing else but Chinese takeaway all day but forgot they are closed on a Tuesday. None of the others around here quite hit the spot so I’m eating onion ring crisps with a selection of four dips. Total delicious trash!

Randomchat · 23/12/2025 18:35

Sausage, egg and chips. Delicious.

TattedBarley · 23/12/2025 18:36

Homemade rosemary bread, Camembert & pigs in blankets with cranberry sauce 😋

Bringyourfoldingchair · 23/12/2025 18:38

We has a Chinese takeaway. I had honey chilli chicken. DH had kung po and the kids had chicken balls and chips. Was beaut. DH has now fell asleep on the sofa and I am tucking into the Prosecco.

TheDandyLion · 23/12/2025 18:41

Parsnip korma

Christmasideas · 23/12/2025 18:49

We had macaroni and cauliflower cheese with salmon and peas. Tomorrow we’ll have the other half of the mac and cauli with ham and broccoli. Perfect!

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 23/12/2025 18:50

Cheese and crackers.

Channeling our inner Wallace and Grommit.

HungreeHipp0 · 23/12/2025 18:57

We had chicken fajitas and a cheese pizza (making space in the freezer!)

Squirrelblanket · 23/12/2025 19:21

We had tacos. It started with us having Jamie Oliver's festive fiesta tacos each Christmas but I've adapted the recipe over time to suit our tastes more. It's lovely though and a great break from the traditional Christmas food!

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 23/12/2025 19:23

We are having homemade chicken fried rice.

Teddy589 · 23/12/2025 19:25

Chinese takeaway, despite us having shopped for days! We’ve got such a busy day tomorrow (busier than Christmas Day) so it’s our treat after doing all the prep today.

ThereIsATInWater · 23/12/2025 19:35

Pulled pork rolls and wedges.
Salad and coleslaw.

Pulled pork from a stash in the freezer.

Makingpeace · 23/12/2025 19:37

Sausage casserole and mash. Easy win for fussy kids.

doitwithlove · 23/12/2025 19:42

Chick casserole with mash & leeks. Very tasty

shoofly · 23/12/2025 19:43

Chicken risotto, using up cooked chicken in fridge. Was lovely. DS2 who doesn't like risotto had leftover lasagne from last night.
