CBD oil for anxiety, has anyone tried this?

I know CBD oil has been available in the UK for quite sometime now but in the many, many years that I have struggled with anxiety I have never tried it.

I have been under a lot of stress over the last year or so and sadly it is only set to get worse. It has resulted in a lot of anxiety which has taken it's toll on me physically and mentally.

I have experimented with various ssri's and snri's but just can not tolerate the side effects despite trying to push myself through them. I need something more gentle and although I know it won't work as effectively as an antidepressant I have wondered if cbd oil may take the edge off for me?

My adult son takes it when he gets very anxious and swears by it but I do wonder if it has a bit of a placebo effect for him? I am wondering if taking it alongside my normal routine of exercise, eating well, meditation and counselling it might just help bring down this anxiety which I just can not calm down right now?

The thing is that money is a bit tight and I am concerned that it may just be money down the drain.

Has anyone tried it and been pleased with the results?

I find it really good

Subtle, like you don't feel doped, but really helps

Would love to try this, is it easily available?

should be easy to buy, it's legal and you dont need a prescription

Made no difference for me. A bit of a waste of money. I think, magnesium supplements are better.

Oh that's a shame. Sadly magnesium really upsets me, I have IBS and have tried various forms of magnesium but they all make my tummy issues worse.

I have and I didn’t feel like it did anything. If you want to spend money on something that is more likely to produce lasting change and that you can make use of forever without paying more money, try hypnotherapy. It helped me a lot and I’ve been able to draw on the same techniques for all sorts of things that make me anxious (MRIs, the dentist, flying, etc).

I tried it - tasted horrible and did nothing for anxiety whatsoever.

Oh and hypnotherapy is also one clinically effective technique for IBS (so much so that it’s funded by the NHS), so two birds with one stone.

Recommend getting full spectrum stuff (eg from CBD brothers)

I have had years of various hypnotherapy (face to face, online, apps, recordings etc) but sadly it has done nothing for me at all, except to burn a massive hole in my pocket.

I have also tried EMDR, so so many CBT sessions, counselling (currently in counselling) and again, it's had little impact on my anxiety/depression etc.
