DP ideas for 10yr anniversary

Posting in chat as I’ve no idea where this should actually go.

DP and I are coming up to our 10yr anniversary in early Jan. We have two young DC and have had a pretty rough year where our newest baby and I almost didn’t make it. No one’s expecting me to knock it out the park.

However, DP was incredible throughout everything as he always is. He stepped up in ways I couldn’t have imagined and fought hard for me to have the space to recover. I’m deeply grateful to him both as DP and dad.

He’s planning something for us involving being away for a night or two. I don’t know details as he asked whether I wanted to know or be surprised and I chose surprise. As a SAHM I know everything that goes on in this house and honestly a break from that sounds divine! Childcare convos are in hand from what I’ve gleaned.

Money isn’t unlimited but I could stretch if the idea was right.

With this context I’d love to hear what your DP or DH loved receiving on big anniversaries. Or if you’re a man what meant something for you to get.

Many thanks!

Years ago, on our 5th wedding anniversary I checked with DH's boss without his knowledge and booked a surprise trip to Venice for us. MiL looked after DC and we had a wonderful time.

Tell us a bit more about him? What does he do when he has time to himself?

Im buying dp a custom board gaming table for a big birthday. It’s a lot of money. He’s been thinking about buying one for well over a decade. I’m also booking a hot air balloon flight.

Oh that sounds wonderful! I bet he loved that.
