Joint present, which names go in the card?

A hobby friend and a group of us from the hobby have clubbed together to get a gift connected to the hobby. It's a big birthday and he's having a party.

There are 11 of us from the hobby and we've collected £20 each, including £40 each from two couples who are both involved in the hobby and friends with birthday boy.

Amoung the other 6, 3 will be bringing plus ones to the party (wives) but have only contributed £20 each, which is all they were asked for. Should the wives' names go in the card?

It depends. Has Hobby Friend met the wives before, does he know who they are? If so stick their names in the card.
If he doesn't know them at all, just sign the card from all the hobby people.
I don't think it really matters who has given how much.

You should list all the name of the people involved and their contribution as a percentage of their income. Include people who gave 0%.

Can't you just sign it 'from all your friends at the club'? It doesn't really matter how much each person has contributed!

This. It's like the class collections for teachers. Who can be arsed working out who has paid what and writing out all the names?

I'd sign it from all the hobby friends because that makes sense.

But it really, really doesn't matter!
