Day 10 - Mine is not flu as I can get up out of bed. Was horrendous for first 3 days could not leave bed which is VERY unusual. Thought I felt a bit better yesterday went to shops then felt dizzy / got off pain all over my stomach? Still eating but only crap beige food or chocs. Look like death , can’t motivate myself to do anything / washing and changing PJs twice a day. Swollen sore throat.

Earlier in the year, 3 weeks but never got to the “can’t do anything” stage, more just really tired, cold, cough and to make it worse we were on a long road trip

I got ill end of November/ beginning of December. Complete exhaustion, no energy, legs and arms ached and no strength, pains in thighs and groin and chest hurt in the middle but muscular. No cold symptoms at all other than odd sore throat coming and going and headaches. I’m still suffering with fatigue and low energy and chest on and off. Also had floaty sensation in head the whole time (not dizzy in vision though) it’s awful

SatsumaCandlesCloves · 23/12/2025 17:18

Where are you getting your lfr from

StanleyR38 · 23/12/2025 19:42

Day … lost count. I have had a sore throat for the past week to add on to my previous complaints. Feels like I have swallowed a tennis ball but on one side only. Pain is travelling into my ear too. Fed up of constantly going to the toilet due to all the liquids I’m having to try and soothe it.

Not forgetting the random 24 hours sickness bug that wiped me out 10 days ago too. Sick once and then flu type fatigue for the rest of the day.

Was hoping I’d be clear by Xmas, but looks unlikely 🥴 Dint think there’s anything I haven’t had this past 5 weeks

overthinking4321 · 23/12/2025 19:46

I had it for over 3 weeks and it was truly horrendous. So I do feel for you. It was really awful. I still have a cough but the other symptoms have calmed down. Hope you get well soon

hedwig123 · 24/12/2025 00:22

I have a hacking cough but not a cold after the throat tickle started 7 days ago. Today my calves hurt like I have run a marathon. Why only my calves?!

SauronsArsehole · 24/12/2025 11:04

I was feverish and although got up just slept a lot on the sofa. Defo flu. I’m at day 13/14 and it’s the eating/drinking then immediately needing the loo issue. So I’m not eating much.

upside I’ve dropped a stone. Downside I’m on holiday (can’t choose when I have them) and I’ve wasted half being sick. Again.

next year I’m not doing this job. I’m done.

I had a flu/cough/cold thing for 6 solid weeks in autumn

DeanElderberry · 24/12/2025 12:28

I'm not fully clear of it yet, but the change in weather this morning has reduced the pain in my lungs, which is very good news.

Squirrel60 · 24/12/2025 13:05

Yes, I've had a strange and strong illness, not sure what it is, be it Covid...which I've had a couple of times ... and this one doesn't feel like Covid at all, or a new strain of flu, which also doesn't feel like normal flu, but I've had doses of violent vomiting, twisted guts, very wobbly, dizzy, light-headed, strange thing to say but my left eye feels like it's about to pop out! Really, seriously bad uncontrolled shaking, walking a few feet feels like 40 miles, no energy or concentration, etc., thumping head and skull aches, also in the teeth/gums, jaw and face, can't hold anything down except cold water, really dry throat and a whole load of other stuff.

I've still got bits of it now!

Hey, what symptoms did you have if you don’t mind me asking?

I had it for 3 weeks, days 7-14 were the worst. It ended up with me coughing up brown and red blood so they gave me antibiotics.

Apparently the colour of the phlegm tells them if it’s viral or bacterial?

Dark green is infected so bacterial and antibiotics
