Abusive ex trying to get my new address.

I won’t bore you with the history. I got away in July and have been living with a friend about 14 miles away from him. I still go back most days for work.

Had a call today from my old boss who I’m still friends with. Ex had called her today (her number is on LinkedIn) and said he knew I had started a new job (I left her employment in April) but was hoping she could provide my new address.

Obviously I am shaken by this.

DS has my new address but is aware enough to just say he doesn’t have it. My proper friends wouldn’t tell him and no one else really knows where I am.

My worry is that he’ll turn up at my work tomorrow. He can be very charming when he needs to be. The friend I live with also works there and everyone knows we live together.

I’ve googled my work and the phone number isn’t visible anywhere so he won’t be calling but I am TERRIFIED of him turning up.

I didn’t report any of the assaults. To the police it just looks like a bitter break up. And he’s really, REALLY good at playing the victim.

What do I do?

Tell your work. We had an email a while ago regarding something similar with one of my colleagues - we all knew to look out for her after that.
I would also speak to women's aid for advice going forward.

Well done for getting free!

Call 101 in the morning & ask to report him.

Absolutely. Can he get into your work? You need a chat with your boss to ensure your details are kept secure.

Yes, I work in supported living. He knows where I work and the doors aren’t kept locked.

I’m at work now. When my boss comes in I’ll ask for a chat.

Later I’m calling the police and Women’s Aid. I’m only on a short shift. I have all afternoon to get my ducks in a row.
