Has anyone ever tried taking lions mane to improve focus?

I have had a tough time in my personal life lately with one tragedy after another. I'm not the most focused person at the best of times but the stress of it all has made this even worse. I can't seem to concentrate!

My employer has been sympathetic but I think I will need to start performing better after the new year and I've heard that lions mane supplements can help with focus.

Does anyone have any experience with them? Did they help you at all?

Yes. I’m on my third month and tbh not really noticing any difference. I will keep going though. I’m on 2,000mg per day

Too many negative side effects for me.

I would think 2 months should be long enough if it's going to work. I was planning to start with a 500mg dose to start off with but perhaps that's too low?

What side effects did you experience?
Did you get any positives along side them?

Diarrhoea. bloating..
No positive effects.
I took it for several weeks, the diarrhoea ceased when I stopped taking it.

That doesn't sound like fun

I’ve taken it for a few months. I have no idea if it helps but now I am scared to not take it in case it is doing something! No symptoms thankfully.

This is probably a bit left field, but I would suggest an early morning walk if you can fit it into your schedule.

Long story short, my wife had cancer, so I switched jobs to work with animals, and found that walking is much better for the soul than I had realised. Now she's gone, it is about the only thing holding me together. I've lost 3 stone (admittedly, I walk a lot), and my focus, and energy levels have improved significantly (shifting the excess weight obviously helps with the energy levels).

The bit I've been most surprised about is how uplifting it is watching the sun rise from the top of a hill.

And it is free.

My Dd has noticed a positive effect. She said it took a few weeks but she definitely feels it helps

I would like to do this but I'm suffering with insomnia (which has been a common theme in my life) so I think getting up early would be detrimental at this stage but once my sleep has sorted out I'd love to do this.

Thank you. Do you know what effect she has noticed?

Me too. My sleep is all over the place since my wife became ill, it isn't easy, but it has helped with sleep too.
