Nursery forcing me to change days

Nursery agreed for my 2 children to attend 5 days from next spring. I am currently looking for a new job and am unsure on the amount of days I'll need exactly. The days have been agreed for almost a year but now they are trying to force me to change the days as they have a long waiting list. My DS attends 3 days currently (my pre maternity leave working pattern) but I am not returning to the same role. I could need to work full time as I am planning to change profession. This seems extremely unfair. Where do I stand? My understanding is I've reserved the spaces and parents can amend bookings as long as they adhere to notice periods etc. Can nursery just push me to decrease the days right now?

Does anyone have experience of this?

I would assume the contract has a provision for them to be able to give you an amount of notice and take away days. I mean, what if they couldn’t find enough staff for a Friday or whatever - they’d need to be able to reduce the children there on a Friday so they were in ratio.
I’d expect any fee for reserving the space to be refunded though

They can’t hold days for you while not being paid for them! Unless you pay for them then they can take them away tomorrow
