Looking for new holiday ideas. Oregon is my number one dream but ideally I'd love to visit them all, possibly with the exception of Florida (for some reason I feel I'd feel most unsafe there).

I love new England. Maine, vermont, massachusetts etc!

MeAndMyGhost · 28/11/2025 19:45

Oregon is very underrated! Really enjoy visiting,

Also, Tennessee. Lots to see and do.

I've wanted to visit Oregon ever since I watched The Goonies!

Of the ones that I have visited Utah stands out for its stunning national parks. Particularly Bryce Canyon, Coral pink Sand Dunes, and Canyonlands.
Amazing natural sights.

Michigan has a lot to offer.

A lot depends on your idea of a holiday though - hiking, biking, beach, city fun, winery/ fine dining tours, architecture, archeology, history, exploring landscapes that are completely different from anything you'd find elsewhere...

California

I’m not an America lover, but I am American. Just don’t live there anymore.

If there is a place I’d recommend that is not usually where tourists immediately flock to, it would be the Southwest, Arizona, New Mexico, parts of Utah.

One place I’d love to go but never have: Montana.

Amazing natural sights.

Just be prepared to pay the new to be imposed ( January, 2026) $100.00 per person ' non US resident' fee to enter State Parks, of which Bryce Canyon is one of them.
Check any State Park's rules before you book is my advice.
I used to enjoy visiting Montana, and New York.

Vermont is incredibly underrated in the summer. Beautiful weather, quintessential small New England towns and breathtaking scenery. I love it ♥️

aaaw that makes me think of the movie Red October.

I’d second Utah. Washington (state, not DC). New York (upstate especially). Parts of Colorado are great. I lived in Michigan for years, and can’t say I love it, but it has spectacular Fall/autumn colour, possibly better than much of New England.

justgottadoit · 28/11/2025 21:37

New Mexico

and Oregon

MrsHamlet · 28/11/2025 21:43

I've been to them all.

North Dakota
Alaska
Maybe Texas

CryMyEyesViolet · 28/11/2025 21:45

Maine, or California

MaxJLHardy · 28/11/2025 21:56

Louisiana. New Orleans is an extraordinary city.

crazeekat · 28/11/2025 22:16

Arizona and the Wild West for sure. AZ has it all, it’s really so so beautiful. Especially Sedona.

GumFossil · 28/11/2025 22:20

We own a house in Florida (in a nice bit in the SW). But Florida is not my favourite state. I love California, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
