I feel sentimental over the littlest things. This time it’s a board game!

I’ve recently cleared out a lot of the dc toys and games to make way for whatever new things they will get for Christmas. At the time I was happy that I cleared a lot and I made sure dc were involved with deciding what could go and what to keep. I’m usually terrible with this and will want to keep most of it even when dc are sure they will never play with it again.

Anyway, one thing I donated was a snakes and ladders board game that they’d had for years. It has become tatty but still playable. It was a favorite.

I was just hanging out the washing when a thought came over me. The last time I suggested to play a board game dc both chose snakes and ladders. I said oh we always play that, how about this one instead. They agreed and whilst they enjoyed the other game, I realized we never did play snakes and ladders again.

Now I’m feeling sad. It’s ridiculous I know but I can’t help it.
Please tell me I’m not alone in feeling like this.

When I was little we used to play a Thomas the Tank game (my brother, mum and dad). We used to have punch up about who was Gordon. It was a basic snake and ladders type game.
My DB and I are now knocking on fifty. It’s all about the memories :)
