Tell me all about it please? Where is it? What cuisine?

What's your favourite dish? Is the service amazing?

Mine is Veeraswamy. They do amazing Indian food. I like the lamb biryani.

Brasserie Zedel - it’s a French brasserie style restaurant at Piccadilly Circus. I also love the American Bar attached to it.

HelloCharming · 24/11/2025 16:44

We keep going back to Tokyo Diner, it's the nearest thing to a real Japanese restaurant like you'd go out to just for a meal in Japan - the bento boxes are great, food is fab..and it's a great atmosphere. And really priced OK for where it is!

Also love Viet - it's maybe not the best Vietnamese food, but it's a great location, the food is good, you can get a table without queuing too long. I just like it.

IWannaCrushEm · 24/11/2025 16:48

I love Vietnamese food

I love the Wolseley. It’s a beautiful room. The service is excellent. It’s been a while but I liked the chicken soup with a salt beef sandwich.

Also Rules for the game. We had quail on toast and jugged hare.

Ivy Asia. The food is amazing. And Dishoom for Indian food 😋

Forza Wine - I love it there, great food, views and great atmosphere.

Love Veeraswamy and Zedel, both great places.

Noble Rot (either at Lamb's Conduit for a peaceful lunch or the Soho Square one for something a bit livelier) is hard to beat. It's probably my easy go-to but always worth it.

The Quality Chop House is wonderful for meat lovers, and very atmospheric. The private dining room is great, fabulous food and service. The potatoes are to die for...

Andrew Edmunds is lovely, again very good on atmosphere.

Lots of places I really enjoyed have shut down! Le Gavroche, Mere, Anglo.

The porthouse on the strand. Lovely tapas, great service, atmospheric.

BlueWorkDay · 29/11/2025 23:17

Quo Vardis is Soho.

Though my favourite ever restaurant shut after Covid, Sardine between Old St and Angel.

SantiagoShaming · 29/11/2025 23:18

Secoming Dishoom!

TeaRoseTallulah · 29/11/2025 23:20

I'm traditional and love Rules.

IWannaCrushEm · 29/11/2025 23:20

Dishoom I've been to many times. I want to try other Indian restaurants of that level or even better

I absolutely love The Wigmore (attached to The Langham Hotel).

Pollyanna87 · 29/11/2025 23:26

Another vote for Brasserie Zedel. Great place.

My personal favourite is China Tang at the Dorchester. Just yummy food and beautiful surroundings.

Also Wiltons on Jermyn Street, a very smart and old school place. Could only be in London.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 29/11/2025 23:26

Ivy Asia at St Paul's (I'm sure the others are just as good).

Tavolo between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. Elevated Italian and great views.

Palourdes · 29/11/2025 23:27

Bocca di Lupo or Yauatcha.

Redheadedstepchild · 29/11/2025 23:36

Just asking all you sophisticated London types because it seems to be all over my social media:

"What's the hype about Fallow?"

I don't think I'd really want to eat twelve year dairy cow or a cod fish head with siracha sauce but maybe I'm missing something.

I don't even live in the UK anymore but help out somebody in exile as it were.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 29/11/2025 23:36

La Chappell by Galvin.

Amazing food for price.

Fallow ain’t all that. Hyped, for sure. The food is good enough but not worthy of the stellar hype

unspendy: Addies Thai in Earl's Court

SummerInSun · 30/11/2025 00:07

Roka.

IntrinsicWorth · 30/11/2025 00:16

Whoever said Hakkasan, I completely agree.
I like the Hanway Place one. It’s in an unattractive subterranean location but the food is amazing. Fixed price menus are good. There are other locations but I haven’t been.

It’s not fashionable at all but I have always had lovely food at the OXO Tower restaurant (the higher up one, I’ve not been to the brasserie). Solid European cuisine, nothing fancy, great cheese and desert trolleys. It’s always full of regulars, whenever I’ve been at lunch (not recently though - I can’t afford it these days :( )
