Does anyone know if York Park and Ride allows overnight parking?

I've belatedly realised that parking for a long weekend in York is going to cost c £100!

I've seen that its been agree that the Park and Ride will start opening overnight, but I cant find out if that's happened yet?

Or any other options?

It would have taken less time to Google that op.

Their website says no overnight parking on any P&R site in York.

No, and they enforce it. I got caught once when I had intended to get back for my car but ended up spending the night in town.

Marygate is being used as parking for the station atm, I parked in there for a two night stay and it cost me less than £100 - I think it came to £65 in the end.

You’re right that they plan to change it, but I don’t think it’s happened yet. To be honest I’d just find a quiet street somewhere just inside the ring road and get a bus from there.

You could also drive to a railway station and get the train in?

Ev depending on where you're coming from Garforth station is near the motorways and has a big free car park and regular trains to York.

I dif Google it and there are multiple articles saying that it's been agreed that they will.

It's literally on the first page of the York P&R website though...

How about finding a driveway to rent for the weekend? There are apps / websites - although can't remember any names right now!

York has pretty good bus services into the centre of York on the main roads in. Look for spots along Tadcaster Road, Fulford Road, Stockton Lane, Malton Road, Boroughbridge Road, Haxby Road, Wigginton Road. They all have good bus services along these routes, not just P&R.

Btw, you can pick up the P&R at some bus stops along the route , but not at all of them. You just pay the standard fare. You can tap on / tap off on all the buses now.
