Are they any good? They seem to have good value for money features. Having had 2 disastrous memory foam mattresses I'm looking to go back to a more traditional type.

I bought the JL Open Spring Comfy Mattress, Regular Tension, Double, which might be the most basic mattress they sell. It's not really regular tension, actually rather soft. But it is comfy! I'm a dedicated fan of open coil mattresses though, as I just can't get on with pocket sprung or foam blocks. I liked the fact it was available next day delivery and they took my old one away at the same time. It's only got a 2 year guarantee.

I have a John Lewis 1000 spring pocket sprung with a memory foam top. I have had it for about 10 or 11 years. I paid £375 in total for the divan and the mattress. The divan is a bit flimsy but the mattress is still going strong (though I little squeaky now in places). I don't share a bed with anyone long term so can't comment on how it would have coped with two people in it. And obviously the trouble with anything a decade old is no one knows how they have changed the manufacturing process since!
