Everytime I eat I get a crampy twisty pain in my belly, I’m still hungry but this has been happening since Wednesday ?!

Any other symptoms at all? Is it linked to any particular food?

OriginalUsername2 · 22/11/2025 17:42

Could be a few things but make sure you stay hydrated and keep blood sugar up. Does it hurt when you press on your tummy?

peachyrose · 22/11/2025 17:55

No not linked to any food I don’t think and yes it’s uncomfortable when I press on my tummy but not painful as such xx

I had this like as soon as food hit my stomach it hurt. I limped along for another 4 weeks before finding out I had Campylobacter via the doctor. No other symptoms! Nice course of Erythromycin and I was fine. Weird.

@fancytoes what is that? Xx

I’d see the GP if it’s still the same on Monday.

I mentioned upthread to stay hydrated and make sure you eat because I’ve ended up in hospital with gastrointestinal pain and they couldn’t give me any pain relief until I had a drip attached and got my blood sugar up. It took 4 awful hours 😩

@OriginalUsername2 what was wrong in the end did you ever find out? X

Gastroenteritis they said, basically inflamed guts from bacteria or a virus.

peachyrose · 22/11/2025 19:00

@OriginalUsername2what tests did they do? Xx

From what I can remember, lots of pressing my belly to find pain points, blood test, sonogram, a CT scan.. they mentioned I might get a camera up the bum but that never ended up happening 😅

fancytoes · 22/11/2025 19:31

One bout of liquid poo out of nowhere, no pain no cramps, no urgency. Then back to normal. Then just weird pain every time something hit my stomach.

We were coincidentally in Sri Lanka so I kept putting it down to spicy food but the above happened before we went, so weird.

Worth getting a stool sample tested if it has been a while? I think by the time I did a sample 4 weeks later it was a bit mucousy but other than that, no other conventional symptoms.

TMI, grim, sorry.

Mate it could be anything from one of the many run of the mill stomach bugs always doing the rounds to necrotising fasciitis, if you're worried go to a doctor, no one on Mumsnet can diagnose you based on your description of a stomach ache.

peachyrose · 23/11/2025 15:04

I think it could be. Diverticulitis flare up, I could be wrong but will speak to gp tomorrow thank you for your ideas x
