Anyone know which variety is guaranteed white paste?
I hate the thin blue gel texture you get in a lot of them
Have just opened a new rapid relief mint and it's changed to the blue goo 😫

Just noticed this thread. I wonder if this is the reason my tongue starts burning and becomes slightly swollen every now and then? I haven't found any usual reason such as diet or drinking more tea so far 🤔

I use the new Clinical white one. It is white, but a weird cross between a gel and a paste.

Oh, have just noticed your post @ChubbyPuffling
That does not sound good to me!

I wonder if Sensodyne Clinical White Enamel Strengthening is the same hybrid?

Yes it works well for the sensitivity, but these mouth cracks are taking a long time to heal. I’m so fed up. The old sensodyne was just fine, why did they have to change it?

Those cracks on the side of your mouth might be caused by SLS in toothpaste. I had the exact same issue and they were incredibly painful, nothing was working but as soon as I stopped using toothpaste with sodium laurel sulfate in they disappeared and haven't come back!

Repair and Protect is still white, but I think it's normally really expensive. i hate the blue gel too.

Agree. You can normally get on amazon a lot cheaper than supermarkets.

bissom · 26/11/2025 18:33

The amazon listing says new formulation though...
Makes me very wary

I stopped being interested when they stopped making the original, pink cinnamon flavoured one. At least, I think it was a cinnamon flavour but I really liked it.

Whatever they do now is some variant on mint/goo/slime.

functionoverform · 26/11/2025 18:44

I have been buying this - white and SLS free. For me it is the SLS that causes a reaction. Often buy direct from the website but you can get it from Amazon as well.

Pronamel mineral boost is white

unsync · 26/11/2025 19:02

I use the Clinical White. It is white. It is also expensive so I stock up when it goes on offer.

I grew up on that one, I wish they would produce it again

I was thinking this, any kind of blue gel toothpaste definitely causes it but now I think it might be a bigger issue. I may need to investigate. For many years I used Colgate total and was happy, but then my teeth became sensitive so switched to sensodyne and have been fine up to now, until they changed to this blue stuff. It doesn’t help that you can’t really rest your mouth to allow it to heal.

bissom · 28/11/2025 10:48

Is this definitely white?

Argh, pic didn't post
Sensodyne Pronamel Toothpaste Mineral Boost, Enamel Repair Toothpaste Multipack, Refreshing Peppermint, 4x75 ml from amazon
seems like a bargain, 4 for £10

I noticed that this morning! Sensodyne is so bloody expensive everywhere so I was chuffed when Home Bargains had it for a few quid less. Now I'm just glad I only bought one - I hate that blue crap. Might as well use Aquafresh and save myself the money.

bissom · 28/11/2025 11:16

Could you say what you noticed this morning? @jemim

OP posts:
bissom · 28/11/2025 11:17

and what variety did you buy in home bargains?

OP posts:
jemim · 28/11/2025 11:24

Edit to add - sorry, I noticed it was blue gloop and not the usual white, almost gritty paste I like.

I thought it was the usual repair and protect, but I'll have a look at the package when I'm back at home. Need to make sure I don't repeat that mistake!

jemim · 28/11/2025 18:50

@bissom this was what I bought. Just spotted the new formula thing on the back!

Hi OP. I had the same issue. I've changed to Aldi sensitive own brand. SLS free and white.

Thank you for this. Another reason for me to love Aldi!

bissom · 29/11/2025 17:29

No it doesn't have to be Sensodyne, although I have used it forever I'm fed up of not knowing (until it's too late) what's inside the tube.
Time to branch out I think and try some of these other suggestions.
