Council Noise complaint - what’s next?

I live in an estate which was built 3 years ago, so we are all close together. A house next to me has multiple dogs where some live outside and others inside. The dogs bark and whine for hours each day. this has been going on for months.

it’s becoming unbearable. I am unable to be in my house without a radio or tv on to try and drown out the noise. Rarely wfh as I can’t concentrate. I have spoken to them few times and it’s always excuses of cars, people and other dogs setting them off. They were quite aggressive in their responses. or they will not open the door. quite a few neighbours have done the same.

I understand animals make noise, but it is continuous for hours with no attempt of the owners stopping it. It is so high pitched. It can happen at night and wake me up. I sleep in earplugs. Exhausted as I want to relax.

so a few of us contacted the council regarding the noise and filled in diaries. The council have contacted me to say they will take it further. They were vague if it will be anonymous or not. I am worried my name will be used and there will be action from the neighbours. They are not friendly and seem very aggressive to each other.

Will it be anonymous? What’s next. I just want to relax in my house with normal street noise.

Can you reply to the council and ask what taking it further looks like?

Ime next step is they install noise recording boxes in your home. Front room and 1 bedroom..
This would be absolutely no bloody use to the compliant I made so I didn't bother.
I previously had reported ndn other side about his ddog barking for up to an hour at least 3 times every day. Once he got the letter he did shut it the fuck up. I don't think he had any idea how awful it was...

@Whereismyfleeceblanket did they say it was you who complained?

@newbluesofa they said when I asked to leave it to them to investigate.
