Someone advise regarding dd sucking old water from mess free pen

While I’ve been busy sorting stuff in the house dd (21 months) has got her hands on one of those mess free pens on the side, the ones you fill with water, she’s basically sucked all the water out of it. The water is old, a good few weeks, I’m worrying she’s going to get poorly. What’s the chances this will make her unwell? I have severe anxiety so can’t rationalise myself

It's possible she may get mild d&v but I can't imagine anything worse than that would be likely. Legionella comes from running water from dirty pipes or something I think so it couldn't cause that. Just give her plenty of fluids to flush it out kind of thing. Obviously if it looks bad call 111.

Thank you. Have tried by googling but there doesn’t seem to be anything specific to drinking old water, just more going on about outdoor water etc

She will be absolutely fine- it will be far from the worst thing that a toddler has ever consumed :)

It honestly wouldn't even occur to me to worry about this op. She'll be fine.

My ds did this exact same thing a couple of years ago. He was absolutely fine! I made sure he drank lots of water to flush it out, he was fine though no d&v at all. I binned it not long after as he was just constantly putting it in his mouth! Don’t worry op Smile
