Do I finally get out my heated throws and cosy blankets, light the Jo Malone candles and dust off the Velvetiser for the all important Hot Chocolate With Sprinkles, Mini Marshmallows and Squirty Cream?

What else have I missed?

I need a link to an example of a jumper with vulnerable sleeves please. I myself am waifish and vulnerable.

GrumpyNovember · 20/11/2025 12:11

I'm firmly in my cosy era xxxxxxxxxxx

Having sex, sorry INTIMACY will keep you warm. Make sure you shower thoroughly and scrub your insides both before and after. Then change the bed and get the sheets washed, before placing them on your Lakeland heated airer to dry

Don't tell me you forgot your Penis beaker?

BeMintFatball · 20/11/2025 12:18

I don’t think I know how to mumsnet properly.

This morning I accompanied my adult skating daughter to the rink. It so cold that 2 of the coaches couldn’t be recognised under all the layers, bobble hats and scarves.
After patch ice she went to work and I headed to Wetherspoons for a cheap breakfast and refillable tea to warm me up.
Got home, heating not on but in comparison feels hot. Dog not sharing my opinion, she’s curled up in a ball beside me.

Nothing cosy here 🤷‍♀️

I've never wanted the Laugh reaction button back more than I have while reading this thread.

@goldtrap Do you mean my strapping 6ft 3 tall, handsome DH?
He's far too busy earning a six figure salary (plus bonuses).
If anyone's been at my Hot Chocolate Station, it'll be the cleaner or my House Manager.
My DTwins eat like a proverbial horse but of course, are drop dead gorgeous and tall and skinny, just like their father.
Thanks for the compliment BTW, I wasn't sure whether I should post a pic or not as I didn't want everyone scrutinising my sticky out stomach. I hadn't done my 2hr Peloton class so I know I Look A Mess.

You appear to have forgotten to mention your DC are not only tall, they are also very intelligent and sporty. Was that an oversight on your part?

And with hollow legs.

MyThreeWords · 20/11/2025 13:54

The ableism on this thread is appalling. Don't you know that people with sensory issues can't wear vulnerable sleeves or drink chocolate with a velvety texture?

Highlighta · 20/11/2025 13:45

Oh well spotted! Yes, so much food has to be bought for these constantly hungry children - £300 a week at the supermarket doesn't even touch the sides. It's all the sport they do.

JaneJeffer · 20/11/2025 14:12

The dog has wrecked all our blankets the little fecker

BlueEyedBogWitch · 20/11/2025 15:14

This sounds odd but I was cold earlier so put my tights socks & jeans on, thick fleece & bobble hat & went in the garden- pulled some dahlias up for storage & I bit of tidying. When I came indoors I felt warm, had a hot drink & a nap.

3luckystars · 20/11/2025 15:30

Yes, ‘pottering’ definitely heats you up.

😅

Looking forward to a pic of "resilient" sleeves now 😆

Woodburner! Before anyone jumps on my I bought it with a critical illness payout for cancer.

free wood (market place) and along with long thermal socks and a woolly hat, it keeps me toastie whilst on chemo!

we are trying not to turn the heating on elsewhere in the house as it’s big (5 bed) and it doesn’t touch it. We have oil radiators in the kids room for when needed.

baroqueandblue · 20/11/2025 19:48

DH and I pride ourselves on our hardy constitutions and believe if the insides of your windows aren't permanently iced over from September to April, you're failing at life.

We won't be putting the heating on this winter as we're donating our entire energy budget to an alpaca sanctuary in Monmouth. We're powering the generator with IKEA glimma tealights, and only firing up the aga once - on jour de Noël - to make braised sprouts for our local Ukrainian community.

And gently, if you ever let your thermostat go above minus one you're a mass murderer complicit in global f*cking warming.

“Gently” 😂😂😂

GreatUserName · 21/11/2025 10:46

Love the resilient sleeves and "gently" 😂
Did anyone listen to heart radio this morning, they were talking about unusual ways to keep warm.
I'm thinking have they been on MN? 😅

OP posts:
GreatUserName · 04/01/2026 11:56

It was -3.5°C at 9am this morning!
I hope you've all got your hygge vive going, along with lighting all your Jo Malone Candles to keep warm 🤗
