Boiler broken and repair service not responding

Called the repair service at mid day to report broken boiler no heating and hot water which is classed as an emergency - no electric heater and no electric shower so was told someone would be out within a couple of hours or so.
I’m in Scotland and it’s freezing. I have wool clothes on but the house isn’t insulated.
it is almost 6pm and no one’s come. It’s now dark and even more cold.
Years ago I had a seizure from getting too cold. I wasn’t diagnosed with a seizure disorder and it was my only seizure ever. Since then I haven’t let myself get too cold because I know how it effects me and it’s under control. I feel myself deteriorating and getting unwell.

Is it a repair service you pay for or is it the council?

Check if your house insurance has emergency boiler cover. Ours did - sent and fixed within 24 hours on a weekend. This was after b*gas who we paid a small fortune to on an annual contract didn't come out despite saying they would do.
If you aren't on the priority service register, please register - it probably won't help in this situation but it will hopefully help if you get a complete power cut.
For now, can you go to a neighbour or coffee shop to get warm?

Really silly question but have you checked the boiler has pressure?

Was going to say the same check boiler pressure. Easy enough to do, gas man told me it was the most common "fault" he gets called out to.
