Chocolate recommendations please!

I need help finding nice chocolate please!

The first is a box of chocolates to say thank you to someone. Happy to spend a lot of money on this but they need to be nice chocolates (have bought Godiva before and didn’t think they were that good!).

Second is an advent calendar for DH. He likes simple chocolate ones, as in no flavours, etc. Just chocolate on its own. I’ve bought the Hotel Chocolate Milk Chocolate one before but wanted to go for something different but again, struggling to find one!

Any recommendations anyone?

@JohnBullshit thanks for reminding me of Brecon Chocolates, lovely shop and brilliant chocolates. I always visit when I’m in the area and had forgotten they do mail order, will have to see if the hazelnut truffles and salted caramels live up to my much missed Paul A Young ones

Harry Specters chocs are lovely.

@RoverbarksHi Op, which one are you choosing? I am curious.

Neuhaus, off the scale good.

I’m torn between Laderach or Melt for the box of chocolates!

For the advent calendar, I like the look of the Laderach but it’s out of stock online so need to see if they have any in store!

The suggestions here have been great and so helpful for future occasions!

Looks like Neuhaus Advent Calendars are all still in stock, and my Brecon chocolates are on their way!

Chocolate recommendations please!

The Highland Chocolatier does the best chocolates I have ever tasted. But they are about £40 for a box of 20 truffles. They are beautiful works of art, too.

Yes, but the common people aren't enjoyong the exquisite Charbonnel et Walker chocolates of 50 years ago, they are getting something far more mass produced.

I remember when Charbonnel et Walker chocolates used to have numbers on the bottom of each chocolate so you could match it with the legend!

Just an update - popped into the Laderach store on Regent Street one evening. Given a sample of chocolate and whole hazelnuts at the door and didn’t think it was that special so was quite disappointed, but decided to go ahead with the chocolates as I was there.

Bought myself a small praline box too so I can try it and the pralines tasted exceptional! So thank you for the recommendations - box of chocolates looked lovely and the advent calendar looks ideal!

I feel a bit tactless even asking but an OP on another thread recently asked for recommendations of chocolate to tempt her to eat. She had tragically recently lost her daughter. I wanted to get some recommendations for a present and meant to get one of the ones on that thread and now I can’t find it. Would anyone mind posting a link?

I’d honestly go with Coco Polo Bliss. I’ve tried it, and it feels much more like real, high-quality chocolate than brands like Godiva. It’s smooth, made with whole cacao, naturally sweetened with no added sugar of any kind, and just tastes clean and well-made.
They also do an espresso coffee flavor, and if you’re a coffee lover, it’s genuinely worth trying.😍
