How can I learn to manage my food issues?

I’m 47 and I’ve realised this year that I have major issues around food. I’m short and weight 10st 10 which sounds a lot but I do a huge amount of exercise and my shape has changed a lot, my belly is much flatter and I have lot of muscle definition which I’m very proud of.
I look fine I really do and im trying to accept that and ignore the number on the scales. But I still obsess over it and there are many foods I don’t allow myself, I have many weird issues around food.
I work from home and I’m a terrible boredom eater in the afternoons, can’t not have sweet stuff as not only me in the house!
anyone successfully overcome this? It’s definitely boredom and habit.

Gillian Riley’s approach really helped me in managing my relationship with food.

Unless you have a particular goal, its better to just to have an idea by eye how much food is what you roughly need (your TDEE) and try and make healthy choices 80% of the time. You can gradually crowd out the sugary stuff and replace with whole foods - you then sort of lose the taste for it (as long as you are hitting your TDEE with the healthy foods most of the time).

In terms of body image totally agree forget the weight on the scale and focus on strength and cool things your body can do.

Thank you am training for a hyrox, men’s weights, and I’m very proud of what my body can do that it couldn’t a few months ago!
