When did JL stop free delivery to Waitrose?

My local John Lewis closed down and since then I’ve been ordering stuff and getting it delivered to my local Waitrose for free.

I haven’t ordered in a few months and this morning it says I have to pay £2.95 delivery charge for it to go to Waitrose. Which is the same cost as getting it delivered to my local post office which I can walk to.

When did they do this? I always used to pick up bits and Bo s and naice jam when I went to Waitrose to collect my JL parcel. Guess I won’t be doing that now.

Ages ago! Well for anything under £50 anyway.

I order DH skincare every Xmas delivered to waitrose and have paid this fee for several years.

Is it me? Have I done something wrong? Because I hope so. But the feee collection from Waitrose option was always there. Now I have to spend over £50 to get free delivery. What about returns?

Still showing as free delivery to waitrose for me, just checked.

Shepherdswarning · 13/11/2025 08:03

Eh?? I literally did this yesterday, for something costing £40. Weird!

It’s free for orders over £40

Hi,
It's free over £40 to click and collect at Waitrose and you can also collect at Dobbies. My local one has a mini Waitrose in it so I often collect from there.

Was it always free for orders over £40? Am I suffering from the Mandela Effect?

It doesn't really matter, it is now.
