Anyone seen the new Waitrose ad with Keira Knightly

I think its a load of rubbish...

It was ok, a bit cheesy for me! I like the music choice. I think Christmas adverts peaked around ten years ago and now they all try too hard to pull at your heart strings, so it was nice to see something a bit more light hearted!

KK makes my teeth itch. But it was fine. I prefer Christmas ads which are about wider community rather than just 'lurve stories' but at least it wasn't obviously just product placement / rampant consumerism like the JL one (although clearly Waitrose doesn't care about community but just wants you to do your shopping at their store & spend £!)

Thought it was rubbish! Bah humbug.

It’s the best Christmas ad this year by far , but I really like Joe W so may be biased . I can’t stand the JL ad .

I felt the opposite to almost everyone! I enjoyed it, especially James and She's A Star, but in no universe would lovely Keira Knightly hook up with Joe Wilkinson, who always looks like he needs fumigating.

You just know that beard will be full of bits of dinner and he probably hasn't showered recently.

He and the creepy neighbour from Friday Night Dinner give me the same thing. I just can't see the appeal.

I've just watched it. Smiled all the way through and now feel Christmassy so it worked on me! KK is just gorgeous but JW def has charm.

OMG - such a relief after the dark and sinister JL advert. Weirdly I enjoyed the parade of Waitrose products. Was it by any chance produced by the people who made Black Doves, what with everyone living in fairytale houses with Christmas decorations that would take a team a month to arrange?

Oh, it’s lovely! I am a Joe fan ( he was ace on the traitors ) and has that dry sarcastic humour I like.
KK is as gorgeous as ever and it was clever how they made it about the food amongst the actual story ( which is the point I know , but it was a nice story)

I would like to know where Keira's long tartan skirt is from. I'd assumed all the clothes would be JL but I can't see it.

Mixed feelings about Joe W. On the positive side, he's funny. On the negative side, his bumbling, don't-mind-me persona is exactly what my ex was like and it wears thin very quickly.

I do like the John Lewis ad too. It brings back memories of the 90s , which seemed happier times.

I don't find Joe adorable in any way whatsoever. So I thought the ad was ridiculous.

Joe is just funny. I know he always plays creepy people, but his good at it!

I posted earlier to say I loved it! John Lewis need to take a leaf out of Waitrose teams ideas people so that they can avoid the same shite next year that they’ve churned out this year!
