Magnatiles - are they a really good toy?

Over the past couple of years I’ve seen various things about Magnatiles. Are they as good as they sound? Do your kids play with them frequently? What ages are they best for? Is it better to get a big set of 100, I guess you can’t build much with the smaller sets?
I’m trying to work out if they’d be a good present for our granddaughter who’s almost 3.

We take them everywhere including on holiday and restaurants to keep children occupied

Also we got a mini set that’s in a tin for taking on travels and that’s so cute and adds lovely to the bigger ones too!

Yes! We have Connetix but they are the same thing. Probably the best thing I've ever bought. My kids are 8, 7 and 4 and we have had the tiles for abput 3 or 4 years. They are definitely our most played with toy.
