Thinking of booking for Christmas. I wondered if you could let me know what you thought- in particular, is it enjoyable/accessible for people who haven't seen a lot of dance?

I’ve seen it the last time - a few years back - it was amazing! Going again to see again this month. I am a ballet fan though and very familiar with The Red Shoes original movie.

I haven't, though I've seen and enjoyed other MB productions -- if you're concerned that people who haven't been exposed to much dance might not follow it, have them watch the Powell and Pressburger film, which must surely be on Youtube (and is always on over Christmas)?

It's great and very accessible.

I saw it a year or so ago - beautiful and absolutely accessible for all. Not the best MB (swan lake and R&J win hands down for me) but a stunning production and ballet is always such a treat at Christmas IMO.

I saw it the first time around and it was absolutely brilliant. I am a big Matthew Borne fan though.

Yes, even without seeing the film I loved it. Love his productions.

I recently watched MB’s Sleeping Beauty with DD(3) on DVD and she loved it although was a bit confused that none of the dancers had big pink tutus like she did. I thought there was more storytelling than you usually get with the ballet and it was easier to understand.

Yes a stunning ballet and as a PP has said, it’s accessible. Great costumes and Music is fab too

Yes, loved it. Always enjoy MB.

Yes, it was wonderful. I've seen a few of his ballets and they have all been amazing.
