Help with booking a driving test

We’ve been trying to book DD a driving test over the last couple of weeks. For the first time, we could just chose any date and then it brought up possible dates around that time that we could then select. However, this time around it’s not showing any test dates for miles around. Has the system changed so that it will only search on the precise date selected?

For my last 2 DC we took them out ourselves, looked at the format of the test online, watched videos and basically self taught them. The younger one we added a few lessons at the end. Took tests in our own car. Booked any test in any location, logged on everyday to see if a test could be moved. Think in total paid for about 5 double lessons. If they are test ready and I had access to a car I’d just drop the lessons.

My DC is unable to give driving test. If anyone looking to book for Swindon I am looking to sale. Please let me know.

Forgot to add date, is for 19/01/2026 and I have only slot.

That’s quite weird of the instructor.

Our instructor was keen not to fleece people if they were test ready. There’s always a long queue of people waiting for lessons.

If you have a car, you can ditch the instructor entirely and take it in that.
