Inspired by the 'What would make you walk away' thread in AIBU.
We bought an absolute do-er upper.
Carpeted throughout with 70s carpets.
Part carpeted in one room with carpet that stopped half a metre from the wall in every direction.
No central heating fitted.
TINY kitchen.
No garage/driveway (at the time).
Just the other year a relative bought a house with several 'hell no' features on my list.
Weird small and narrow spiral staircase tucked in a cupboard in the kitchen.
No natural light in the living room due to a garden room/dining room being built outside the original window.
A very sloped path - lethal in the ice.
No parking outside the house. Shared access around the back, constantly blocked by selfish neighbours.
No direct access to the garden from the back door, you went out of the door into a yard, then had to cross the access road to get to the back garden.
Accessible bathroom with grab rails and an actual stair lift that had been fitted that went up from the living room into the main bedroom.
They spent a LOT of their savings doing most of that up, but a lot can't be changed and they are now considering moving.
