What's your vice?

I've realised I have just munched my way through a 500g punnet of grapes.
So not the worst thing in the world but it's a lot isn't it in one sitting 😳

Sour cream and chive Pringles and cherries.

Nigellastwinklylights · 06/11/2025 11:24

Cheese, peanuts, crisps, wine. Shall I on? 😀

Coffeeishot · 06/11/2025 11:26

Pretzels preferably the Polish ones I dehydrate myself eating them 😀

Gingercatlover · 06/11/2025 11:28

Pringles, Dairy Milk chocolate, Squidgy desserts like Tiramisu or cheesecake.

Proudsaver · 06/11/2025 11:29

Maltesers. It is physically impossible for me to only put one in my mouth at once.

Coffeeishot · 06/11/2025 11:30

I also love jelly babies and don't buy them often because I inhale them.

Me too. You gotta pop in two or three as a time.

My vice is Starbars. I buy a pack of 4 with my Tesco shop and they don't last two days.

Canopop · 06/11/2025 11:31

The Aldi salt and pepper share bag crisps

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 06/11/2025 11:32

Cherries, cashew nuts (especially the Marmite ones).

MySilentLions · 06/11/2025 11:33

Anything salt and vinegar flavour.

GeorgesMarvelousCalpol · 06/11/2025 11:35

Pringles, Maltesers, Minstrels, Doritos. Any crisps TBH.

But I can also get through a whole punnet of grapes in one sitting.

If someone supplied me with Chinese takeaway every day, I wouldn't be able to resist it. So, I guess that is my vice!

I try to make a point of not buying anything that I might be tempted to binge on. If it's not in the house, I'm usually too lazy to be bothered to get in the car and go out and buy it!

I did have a lapse last week though. DH was away, so I was on my own. Too lazy to bother with cooking anything and found myself craving some Chinese takeaway. If DH had been here, I would have eaten sensibly from all the healthy stuff in the fridge but as he wasn't here I decided to go out and buy myself a takeaway, for the first time in almost 2 years. I made it last for 2 meals and have promised myself not to get any more for at least a couple of months.

BitSilly · 06/11/2025 12:53

Fgs @SailingAwayAgain now I want Chinese takeaway!
It's law in this house we must order enough for leftovers.

Mine is those crispy seaweed coated peanuts you can get from Asian supermarkets. They used to do them in Tesco but they only seem to do the wasabi ones now.

I demolished a 1kg bag of them over the course of a few days once. Not my proudest moment.

EnchantingDecoration · 06/11/2025 12:58

My DD has learned to make "crispy seaweed" and it's bloody amazing.

I am an absolute glutton and put four in at once, two for each side of my mouth, and bite down on them all at the same time.

Suffice to say they don’t last long.

*Edited to add I’m talking about Maltesers. Not Star Bars!

That sounds amazing!
Can you share her recipe/method please?

Cheesecake. I have no known upper limit!

Also I have learned not to keep big bags of nice chocolates in the house. Got some Celebrations for trick or treaters, basically no one came this year and I intended to share them with family…and, erm…

MySilentLions · 06/11/2025 22:54

Oh yes cheesecake is goooood. I’ve been known to polish off a lemon tart under stress too.
