Chelsea mens home tickets?

Are they basically impossible to obtain if you’re not a season ticket holder??

It’ll be my son’s 9th birthday in March and he’s desperate to go to a men’s home game (never been to a football match before - none of us have). How do I go about getting 1 adult/1 child ticket? Happy to pay, or go through some random route (corporate/credit card reward thing/o2) but it needs to be guaranteed tickets as I can’t have a devastated birthday boy because I’ve been done over by a dodgy ticket seller!!

Help!!

No idea but maybe contacting one of the Chelsea’s supporters groups on Facebook or X might find someone to help and advise you?

Arpegios · 05/11/2025 11:11

Have you thought about going to a women's game? Our DC got into football and we basically sat them down and said mens game tickets are hundreds of pounds, they are impossible to get except by ballot. So shall we try the Women's team?
It was our first ever football game too, and we watched Chelsea women vs Man U at Stamford Bridge, and the atmosphere was so much more child friendly than what I've heard about the mens games. The tickets were easy to get and about £20 each. And the stadium was pretty full and it was loud and exciting!

It is pretty much impossible to get guaranteed mens tickets unless you know someone, or pay hundreds (or even thousands!) of pounds.

I think if you become a member it is easier - well it used to be. My husband is a season ticket holder so I can check with him when he is home from work if you want? As I know he’s got them for his brother before who isn’t a season sticker holder

Yes please!

My husband paid to become a member of Chelsea (the most expensive tier of membership (is it premium or something?) - but I think there must be 1000s (if not 10s of 1000s of members) as when they release a batch of tickets it is impossible to get any. My dh logs on hours beforehand and keeps refreshing the page, but then they all go before he gets to the front of the queue. So, my dh has tried lots of times to get tickets via the members route and it has never worked.

He has taken the kids to see Chelsea women’s’ matches, and that was really good, easy to get tickets and much cheaper.

i don’t know what the answer is, to be honest.

Thank you for replying - appreciate it’s super popular, but it’s mega frustrating when that’s basically all he wants for his birthday 🫣

Same - for my son’s 18th (mid-Sept) - he desperately wanted tickets to see a match (that’s all he wants) but we have been unable to get any…

BusySpinningPlates · 06/11/2025 10:22

We thought getting a membership would make it possible - but no. That’s the only reason we got a membership (to try to get tickets for my son). We might as well have just set fire to the money..

I wonder if season ticket holders get priority (over members) when the spare tickets are released for each match?

@ChateauProvence How did your husband get extra tickets for his brother - what was the process?

rainbowsparkle28 · 06/11/2025 11:14

As others have said - why not try one of the WSL matches?

Because he wants to see a men’s game, and it’s his birthday and so I’m trying to see if I can make it happen for him (somehow!)

Sports breaks do great packages, pricey but worth it in my opinion. Used them 4 times now and never been disappointed

ChateauProvence · 06/11/2025 11:40

I’ve just spoken to him and he bought them off people he sits with who are season ticket holders but couldn’t go on that day - sorry I didn’t realise. He said there is a resale website too. He has been a season ticket holder for years and said it is getting harder and harder to get extra / spare tickets

Letthemeatgateau · 06/11/2025 11:46

Have you looked at the hospitality packages on Chelsea's website? That's probably going to be the easiest way to get a ticket. I just looked and there were hospitality tickets for this weekend's match.

Gall10 · 06/11/2025 11:51

It’s a great opportunity to teach your child that we can’t all have what we want in life…even for birthdays…a woman’s game will be great for him, even better if Chelsea win!

Most premiership season tickets are digital and cannot just be given to anyone else…clubs have a procedure, both the holder & recipient must be club membership holders and each be on the others ‘friends list’. These days ticket selling is being stamped on due to ticket touts and reselling at vastly inflated prices.

elmaf · 06/11/2025 14:02

I ended up paying for Chelsea season ticket membership for myself and my son. Even then it was touch and go trying to get match tickets! Ended up being an expensive day, as although he enjoyed the match, he didn't ever want to go to another 😅

BusySpinningPlates · 06/11/2025 14:11

@elmaf Do you mind if I ask you about this? I thought season ticket holders get automatic entry to matches? Why was it difficult getting tickets once you had a season ticket? And do you mind me asking, how much did it cost for a season ticket? Thanks :)

Chickydoo · 06/11/2025 14:29

My DP has a season ticket. He gets a ticket for every home game. He's become friendly with the people who sit near him each game. They now have a WhatsApp group and trade tickets between them. When someone can't make a match my DP buys their ticket and gives it to a family member or a close friend. I think most season ticket holders do the same.

This is how my DS and DH get tickets to Old Trafford.

They’re both members and became friendly with the guy who runs the local supporters coach and some season ticket holders who go on the coach. If any of them can’t go they’ll give them first refusal. Season ticket holders can only transfer to members though.

If you’re not local, see if there’s a supports club near you. They’re worth speaking to.

elmaf · 06/11/2025 17:09

Oh that's right, it was membership, not season tickets!

As soon as the tickets went live, I was frantically trying to secure some. Ended up with two quite pricey seats, as all the cheaper ones sold out really quickly.

Was all quite stressful 😅
