Surely you just buy the one which says Happy birthday and not pink, sparkly, childish etc .
National trust places, museums and libraries often have interesting, unusual cards. My last one was bought at a post office and it was the 3d place I visited.

Museums, art galleries, National Trust, local art festivals, open studios etc. I buy a few at a time so I always have some for different occasions.

A little left field but TK Maxx have some lovely cards.

I bought DHs in Waitrose today because I saw the perfect one, but normally I buy them in independent local shops.

Oh god most of my card purchases are made in the corner shop near me en route to celebrating someone’s birthday 🫣
I put literally no thought or effort into cards, in fact it’s my ds birthday tomorrow and I’ve not even got him one yes! Will pick one up in town on my lunch break tomorrow - I have a range of shops to choose from but it will be coming from the first shop I go in!!
