Officially 5 and a half stone loss on Mounjaro

Started at 18 stone 4 on the 20th January this year and hit a 5 and half stone loss this morning. I still need to lose at least 1 and a half stone (or another 4 to be at a healthy weight for my height which is NOT going to happen 🤣). My health has improved, I’m not breathless, I move more, can go into most shops and buy something as I’m now a 14-16. I can look at myself in a shop reflection now without feeling shame. And most
importantly I am giving myself the best shot at seeing my DC grow up.

I am planning to come off it after this pen runs out in 2 weeks but have yet to make a final decision on this. Not sure why I’ve posted this but don’t really have anyone to talk to about it as everyone thinks mounjaro/jabs are ‘cheating’ when it has taken so much to get where I am now. So yeah, just wanted to put it out into the universe that my life has been changed and I never thought I’d get back to this point!

Well done you!!! 💐💐💐

ChocoChocoLatte · 04/11/2025 18:28

Well done you! That’s my start weight but am no where near that loss. In fact, am going back up again.

this is tempting me to get the jabs - thank you

Nuffalready · 04/11/2025 18:38

Congratulations 👏 that is phenomenal!! Ignore the stupid “ cheating” stuff… the Universe has heard you ( well some of us on Mumsnet) and is in awe of how you’ve taken action to change your life for the better. Keep up your amazing efforts 👍

So happy for you! Welcome to your new life 🥂

Well done that's amazing! I've lost 4 stone 5lb since January, my start weight was 13st 10 but as I'm very short my BMI was 34.5 at that weight. It's now 24.5, I would like to lose another few pounds but I can't really afford to keep buying Mounjaro with the price hike. I'm anxious about what is going to happen when I stop taking it 😕

CluelessAboutBiology · 04/11/2025 19:05

That was my exact same start weight. I’m less than 3 stone down but I shall use you as my role model.

TheBigBagBabes · 04/11/2025 19:20

Thank You! My local pharmacy is still doing the jabs at the old prices, I am worried about what happens when I stop taking it but like any diet it’s a lifelong change. I am only 5foot 1inch so really short. I’ve just got to keep going, it has been really hard and is by no means the easy way out, I have had brutal side effects and spent a fortune but i had totally lost myself.

I’ve lost 2.5 stone since May and most definitely isn’t ‘cheating’! I’ve had to work hard at this - MJ just helps with the mental battle. Well done you on your amazing achievement. Do you have a plan for maintenance?

GlitchStitch · 04/11/2025 19:30

I'm the same height as you OP. You will definitely get there, I couldn't care less if anyone thinks I've cheated. The benefits to my health and my confidence have been enormous, it's weird that some people think losing weight should be as hard as possible so that you have "earned" it!

TheBigBagBabes · 04/11/2025 19:40

Yeah it’s very much of attitude of if someone’s taken the injections then they don’t deserve it as much? Which is very bizarre as I truly see it as a medication that ideally would be available to everyone who needed it. I aim to be 11 stone (ideally I’d be 9 and a half but I’m not sure how achievable that is!) and I might stay on Mounjaro until I get to 11 but I’ll reassess next week. My current plan is to fast, I have had good success with that previously
