Why would anyone think Argos only sell toys?

Just been watching their second advert on the theme of "Argos doesn't just sell toys".

Is there anyone who genuinely doesn't know Argos sells a wide range of goods? Or is it because they've been using two toy characters in their adverts for a few years, so they're trying to play on that? But which backfires because it implies their marketing strategy was flawed.

Ha, we thought exactly the same. It's quite a bizarre advert. A shame as I thought the previous ones (is it voiced by guy in Our Country?) were ok

Argos wouldn't even be my go to for toys. When I think of Argos I think cheap furniture!

The advert highlight it sells toys and everything else.
Are some people think as loft insulation? - yes they are.

Their adverts bore me

I used to love their 'argoose' adverts back in the day, they were good

True but we’re here talking about it so does that mean it’s worked?

I always think of their jewellery. Those huge naff diamond rings full of tiny stones they used to sell in the 80's. I thought they were amazing at the time.

Yep! I loved looking at the jewellery- naff as it was 🤣
Can't remember the last time I bought anything from Argos! In fact I don't think I know anyone really that shops there.

Around 15-20 years ago I LOVED Argos and was literally buying EVERYTHING big and small there. I loved their in-store catalogues with the sealed pages and that they had everything in stock at the store and it was cheap. The stores were great and had seating.

Then they modernised, got those awful tablets instead of catalogues, the touch screens of half of which never worked properly. They got rid of seating and never have anything I need in stock on the day. So I stopped shopping there. Not sure how they are still in business.
