Good Morning All! What's everyone doing today?

I'm currently sat in dd1's bed, waiting for a cuppa to arrive. She's gone off to the kitchen to make it for me 😊.

I'll drink that then jump in the shower, and pack my things (and some of her towels!) ready to take home. I'm slightly regretting my middle of the day train choice, but am out with dd2 tomorrow so it seemed sensible to leave early ish.

Once we're dressed, and I'm packed, we're nipping over the way for a bit of food shopping for dd1. She's home from Friday, so only needs a few days topped up.

When I get home, my plan is to eat, unpack, and then sleep at whatever time it is so I'm nicely refreshed ready for work tomorrow and taking dd out!

I'm still waiting for a text back from dd2, so not sure what she's up to - hopefully either tidying her room, or making sure all her homework's done!

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning! Hope you had a great day yesterday.

I’m in bed having slept until half seven which is unheard of these days. Getting up soon and pottering a bit, some stretching after a long walk yesterday, might do omelettes for lunch, then taking ds to his new home 😢🙂 and am looking forward to TEARING through his room tonight to make it tidy and clean again. Mushroom curry for dinner.

gingercat02 · 02/11/2025 09:53

Morning all
Sounds like a great weekend @lucysmam you both do love your music.
Just finishing my coffee and then off to PiYo. It's a beautiful day here but there is football on the telly so no one will want to go out. I might do some gardening if the sun is still shining.
Probably out for the fireworks tonight and then a bit of a chill before school and work tomorrow.

EndorsingPRActice · 02/11/2025 09:55

Chauffeuring DD to friends for the day, taking a nice long relaxing walk, cooking roast pork for dinner.

Kim82 · 02/11/2025 10:03

Good morning everyone. I’ve had a nice, quiet morning so far. Was up at 7.30am and it was just me and the cats until 10 minutes ago when dh got up. Dd11 didn’t go for her sleepover last night so she slept with me in my bed and she’s still fast asleep in my bed as she stayed up late.

We’ve no plans today so will just potter about the house and have a chilled Sunday. I scrubbed the house top to bottom yesterday so no cleaning needs to be done so I can legitimately just sofa rot all day.

Tea tonight is enchiladas and salad then I’ll iron my work clothes for the week and have a nice, long, hot shower and an early night ready for work and dd11 will do the same as she’s back to school tomorrow.

mamaduckbone · 02/11/2025 10:07

Good morning @lucysmam and all.

Lazy morning here after an impromptu get together with friends last night got a bit late and a bit boozy.

So far I've had tea and toast and watched an episode of Girl Bands Forever with Dh. Ds2 is still asleep - he had a party last night so won't be surfacing any time soon.

We're going to go for a walk in a bit and head into town to buy a couple of bits. I have work to do this afternoon and ds1 is home for his reading week later so we'll have dinner this evening with him.
It will be baths and early nights all round tonight I suspect.

Good morning @lucysmam & The Sunday Crew. Goodness you’re busy @lucysmam! We had an unexpected journey last night as DD16 wasn’t able to stay at her GF’s after the concert & the trains had stopped so we drove 1 & a half hours to pick her up. Didn’t get home til nearly 1am. Had been looking forward to a nice relaxing evening. Luckily I’d ordered our Indian fairly early. Woke at nearly 9 which is very unusual & made a cuppa to have in bed with DH. I’m popping over to my folks’ house later so DBro can have a break (he’s staying there to look after DF who has recently started chemo & is currently too tired to care for DM). It was beautiful weather first thing then tipped it down so he may not go for his planned walk on the cliffs. The bunnies have been in all night. DH will clean both sets of hutches. Nice easy tea planned of pasta bake with broccoli. I might do a bit more decluttering at some point. Kitchen needs sorting & there’s loads of washing to put away. Will watch the Strictly results & maybe Trigger Point as never seen it - would you guys recommend? Have a good day all 🙂

Zippedydodah · 02/11/2025 10:08

Good morning everyone, it’s a beautiful sunny morning here and we’ve just walked the dogs.
I have a huge pile of ironing to sort out and I need to do something to my crafts area, it’s such a muddle. I want to put up some of my efforts on the wall.
Pork chops for dinner, roast potatoes, peas and broccoli I think (as lashings of mint and gravy)

Rainbow1235 · 02/11/2025 10:14

Good morning to u all. Glad u had a great weekend lucysmam . I’m still sat having a cuppa but will shift soon as we are going out for a carvery then home to chill and watch strictly results although I already know whose out as my friend finds out and txt me results every Sunday morning . Have a great and safe day all 🫶

patooties · 02/11/2025 10:20

Dog walk, shower, breakfast. meeting a friend in a bar at 2 (for ‘coffee’) that might turn into lunch and wine. There’s a chicken which DH will roast and depending on how seeing my friend goes I’ll either be home in time for a chicken dinner or home late, slightly tipsy and have a chicken butty for dinner!

Back to work tomorrow after a 10 days - cannot say I am looking forward to it and I love my job!

Simonjt · 02/11/2025 10:26

Good morning, its very dull here today. We have friends staying with us so we need to sort some final bits before they arrive later.

So we’ll be in a lot today, the kids are arguing over some duplo, so peaceful as always!

ShipshapeShore · 02/11/2025 10:33

Love the cosy vibes, keep them coming. Spending the day with family today after my uncle passed unexpectedly yesterday. We're going to sit and make a plan for all the admin to do tomorrow and divide it up. And look after my aunt of course, I don't think it had fully hit her yesterday. A sad weekend for us so I'm very much enjoying reading about everyone else's days.

Cheersmedears123 · 02/11/2025 10:38

Morning! I’ve had a lazy morning in bed and DH bought me a coffee while a cat snoozed next to me. I’m now up and cooking sausages while DH and DS are gaming. We had friends over last night for dinner and we drank too much wine, so I’ve got a can of Irn Bru on the go to sort myself out. I did a lot of housework yesterday so today I just need to get the kitchen back in order and make sure clothes are ready for school and work.

We have a very chilled day at home planned but I’ll try to get out for a walk at some point. I’d also like to read my book in the bath and DS wants to watch a film together. I’m not sure what’s for dinner yet but we have plenty in and then I expect we’ll have an early-ish night!

Sorry for your loss 💐💐💐

kittiker · 02/11/2025 11:15

Morning all.
It's very squally and grey here. DH made fluffy Japanese omelette for breakfast - think we'll do souffle pancakes next week. I ended up with a visual migraine yesterday which explains my mood yesterday but I caught it before it got proper hold. Managed to get some of the upstairs properly tidied so will probably continue with that. My craft room had been repurposed as a guestroom / dumping ground so I've ordered a sofa bed in order to reclaim it. I want to try and get that room cleared out today. It still needs a bit of work on the doors and window surround so DH might try and get some of that done whilst I continue with general chores. But all at gentle pace, I think. The boys are heading out to the dump and its recycling shop now. This is a favourite outing! They always come back with something random. Then a restful, cozy afternoon, hopefully. Ds is currently obsessed with lord of the rings monopoly so no doubt we'll play that. Might see if he fancies a rewatch of the movies. Dinner is slow cooked brisket and all the trimmings. Nom.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 02/11/2025 11:30

Good morning Lucysmam and others. ShipshapeShore I'm very sorry for your loss.
I have been up since six. Dgs2 is having surgery on his broken elbow as we speak and I'm looking after dgs1. He's no bother but anxious about his wee brother. We have been to Hobbycraft for art supplies and Smyths. He wanted to get a toy for his little brother. If course, grandma bought him a toy too!

DemonsandMosquitoes · 02/11/2025 12:20

Just booked some trips to Lake Bled and nearly caves for our trip to Lublijana next month. A bit of lunch. A long walk as I feel I havent moved enough all week and then roast pork for tea. It’s a lovely bright sunny day in the NW today, nice to see the sun.

DilemmaDelilah · 02/11/2025 13:06

Good afternoon @lucysmam and everyone.

I'm late today because we went swimming this morning. We then came and had lunch, and Mr Dilemma put a film on for us to watch. I decided about 15 minutes ago that I was dropping off, so I've come upstairs with a hot water bottle to have a nap. Just doing this before lying down properly. Mr Dilemma is having a nap as well, but in his own bed in his own room!

I didn't manage to get Mr Dilemma to help me with the freezer audit yesterday, but I did go and have a rummage through one of the shed freezers yesterday. Mr Dilemma had sausage and cheese tortellini with a cheese sauce yesterday evening, and I had my home made vegetable curry with tuna and rice.

For lunch today Mr Dilemma had sausage rolls I found on my rummage, and this evening we're having sausages from the freezer. Mr Dilemma is having them in bread rolls, also out of the freezer, and I'm going to have roasted pumpkin.

Tomorrow I'm having cold turkey (from the freezer) with salad and a jacket potato and I'm making Mr Dilemma macaroni cheese because he has a sore mouth and he really liked the cheese sauce I made for his tortellini yesterday. I'm trying to use up as much as I can out of the freezer.

I managed an hour and a half on the beading for Mr Dilemma's Christmas tree ornament yesterday while he had his nap, but today I need a nap myself so the rest will have to wait until the next time Mr Dilemma is out of the way.

I have no other plans for today. I'm pretty sure I'm starting a cold unfortunately, so I'm going to do my best to ward it off as much as I can.

Thislittlekitten · 02/11/2025 13:16

Afternoon @lucysmam and all the Sunday gang.

Was up early to take DS to a rugby tournament. Absolutely bitter on the field. NE Scotland has taken a dip weather wise!

Im snuggled up with a hot water bottle and will watch football. DH is resting after a big dog walk and shopping. DS is defrosting upstairs. DD is in bed but awake.

Tonight I have another club run to do. Not sure about tea yet. Plus uniforms to organise as per.

frozendaisy · 02/11/2025 16:15

So late to the party (not for the first time)

out the house early doors for local green volunteering - lovely morning - put the teens in the best mood

H wanted a couple of lunchtime pints so went to local with a Sunday paper and had the most enlightening hour with the teens doing maths, sudoku and cryptic crosswords with us

chicken just gone in

need to find school bags and uniform and everything else

H has classical music blaring I might counteract with Iggy pop

life could be a lot worse
