Has anyone done the Apple official battery replacement?

I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max. It is 2 years old and the battery capacity is now at 85% and it's just awful - I have to charge it twice a day, it gets warm, it's just rubbish. I am fed up of needing to find a plug/carry a portable charger with me all the time.

I am tied into a contract for the phone for another year, and the idea of just binning it off (or trading it in, which I'm not 100% convinced will actually be used the resell) when it works fine aside from the battery, doesn't sit right with me. I have paid for apple care for the last two years, because I know they will replace it when it hits 80%. But I am going on some trips next year and need it to be decent.

Has anyone done the official apple one, and does it actually bring it to be back like new?

Yes, a few times. It’s definitely been an improvement, and is generally done in an hour or so.

Did it in June and it still says my battery health is 100% and I use my phone A LOT

Is the battery capacity a lot better? I feel like I’m tearing my hair out with this phone at the moment but it feels wasteful to get a whole new one!

Yes, I’ve done it a few times because I usually keep my phone for years. It’s a new battery so it’s as good as when you first bought the phone.

Amazing thank you! I couldn't work out if they did some sort of refurbished battery or if it was brand new. I'll book in for it!

Yes, on an iPhone 12. Was under £100 iirc very quickly in store as PPs have said and vastly improved the phone

Yeh it’s like new again

I’ve done it a few times as, like others, I don’t change my phone often at all. Mine’s a 13 mini and they don’t make any more so I’ll no doubt have to do it again as I can’t use a big phone.
Last time was a couple of months ago; it had gone down to 57% 😳. It’s still 100% now. The warmth/heat thing apparently isn’t an issue; mine sometimes feels positively hot but the guy at the genius bar said not to worry. They also replaced my cracked screen as it came apart when they removed it 😊.

Ye, it took an hour and worked really well. I did have a battery daily that was known about so it was fine FOC.

I’ve had the battery for my MacBook and iPhones changed before at the Apple store and items have been good as new afterwards. Definitely worth doing as items work so much better with just a new battery so you get years out of them

my current iPhone 14 is showing 87% battery capacity but it still lasts for absolutely ages after an overnight charge and I never have to charge again during the day.

Gosh im jealous. Mine is down to 50% by 11am. I definitely need to get it sorted before I go away, and it looks like switching it would be the better option to fully replacing it at the moment

My partner did, he was very pleased with it.
