Is this a common theme?
I know a few men who have adult children and who have left the family home.
They don't seem to be able to say no to the adult DC. Whether it's money, a lift to the airport, DIY or babysitting. They will prioritise the DC over everything, even when it costs them money or involves cancelling plans with others. I know none man who borrows money so he can eat when his adult son wants beer money.
I completely get supporting adult DC, my own life would be very different if my parents hadn't offered practical help, but I know for sure they'd have never cancelled a trip out with friends to babysit my DC and any DIY help would have been when it was convenient for them, rather than at the drop of a hat.
