Is there some new law about buying fireworks?

Just that really. I'm not interested in buying any fireworks other than sparklers. But most years up to now when I've bought sparklers in Asda or Sainsbury's they've been in a locked cabinet type thing with other fireworks and you've had to go and get a staff member to get them out for you. This year less than a week before Nov 5th and I haven't seen these cabinets anywhere and the two supermarkets I've been to today said they don't sell any fireworks any more.
I was wondering if the law has changed or if it's just shops deciding for themselves it's not worth their while any more.

No law as far as I've heard. I saw fireworks in a locked cabinet in a supermarket the other day so probably just an individual supermarket decision. Having said that I feel they should not be sold to the public!
