Hopefully you are ok for your trip rest up as much as you can,

Proper flu typically lasts a week or so but it can take longer to fully recover.

A lot of people think they've had flu when it's just a heavy cold. Flu does take a while unfortunately.

Yes I was assuming yours was flu. I just have a bee in my bonnet generally about it as so many people have never had it and don't realise how awful it is.

I'm at week 4 today and I'm still not well. I've done covid tests and all negative so I'm assuming it's flu. I have had everything: sickness, diarrhoea, sore throat, awful cough, temp blocked ears and conjunctivitis. As soon as one symptom subsides, another flares back up. We might not have the same virus though.

Bless you. Yes Ive got it all...no diarrhea though. Even the raspy voice they reckon the new covid variant is presenting. Did a test today but negative.

Pushed myself to move about abit today as being in bed is really painful on my back but feel dreadful tonight, didn5 sleep this afternoon so tom Im staying put not moving unless for the toilet.

And I have a bee in my bonnet about people stating that you can’t get out of bed if it’s “real flu”, when flu can be mild, moderate, severe or asymptomatic.

Now obviously you don’t know for definite if you have flu unless you’ve been tested for it but being able to walk around does not mean that it can’t be flu.

I hope that you feel better soon, OP.
