Good Morning All! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. Both cats were snuggled up with me until I decided it was time for a brew ☕️. They've had breakfast & gone back to bed.

When I finish my cuppa, I'll make a coffee & head up for a quick shower, and to get dressed, before texting my dad that we're almost ready to go for breakfast. He's taking us to a local garden centre - they have alpacas & yummy brownies 😋.

When we get in, I'll shove some washing in, and probably potter for the rest of the day with dd1 for company until she heads home to London, for uni. Dd2 will probably join me to watch some more of The Rookie - we're almost finished!

Their dad wanted to go out to eat but that might wait until next time dd1's home since we're all out for breakfast - we'll see 🤔.

Tonight it'll be my usual Self-Care-Sunday scrubby everything shower, followed by a couple of hours with my book, then a nice early night ready to head to Leeds with dd2 tomorrow to explore their museum offerings.

What about all of you? 🙂

Need to do some cleaning & tidying up today. Having a beef roast for dinner. Hoping to watch a film (beetlejuice 2) with dc later if i can peel them off their playstations with their mates. 😆

Good morning everyone, I had such a good night’s sleep last night so feel very rested and fresh this morning. I enjoyed my solo evening yesterday, I ordered myself a Chinese, just relaxed in front of the tv and was in bed by 10.15pm. I was up nice and early and have just put load number 3 in the washing machine as I haven’t touched the washing all week so have hoards to do today.

I’m currently waiting for some sausages to cook for me and dh as we fancied sausage sandwiches and the plan today is to spend the morning chilling on the sofa interspersed with putting more washing in the machine/dryer and then this afternoon I need to get off my backside and get the house in order as it’s grim after a busy week of work/school/dance. I’m going to clean it top to bottom and then do roast pork for tea for me and dh. Dd11 is due home between 6-7pm so I’ll make her something else for tea (she doesn’t like pork) and spend the evening with her before I jump in the shower and have an early night ready for work tomorrow. I’m only in for 3.5 days this week as it’s half term so I booked my last 1.5 days leave for the end of the week to take dd11 out somewhere. I can’t wait for my easy week and long weekend!

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 26/10/2025 09:12

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I was up obscenely early because of a very bad night. I've had three coffees and a croissant on homemade apricot jam then I returned to bed for a couple of hours. I'm just about to get up again for a cuppa and then do some soup making. I have a pumpkin to carve for my dgs. Then, if I can be bothered, I'll do a small ironing. Mince pie and mash with swede for dinner. Have a good day all

DilemmaDelilah · 26/10/2025 09:13

Just off swimming. Feed back later

andanotherproblem · 26/10/2025 09:15

We’re going for a browse around our local shopping centre and then taking DD to soft play, when we get home I’ll do a hoover and then wash my hair

LasVegass · 26/10/2025 09:18

I’ll be cleaning what’s now the guest bedroom/office room and start researching cars as we need a new one. I’m not looking forward to the car thing as it’ll be a lot of money and I hate making big decisions (well, spending lots of money on things I don’t know enough about).

thegirlwithapearl · 26/10/2025 09:20

Good morning everyone
I'm just relaxing with a coffee- because of the clocks we got up early and I've done all my jobs for today! Made a picnic and put three loads of washing away, DH cleaned the cooker and is going to Hoover while I take DC to church. Then we're picking up my mum and going to a national trust place for the afternoon.

Cocotok · 26/10/2025 09:20

Morning all. Attempted a lie in this morning but I couldn’t get back to sleep. First load of washing on, food shop delivered and put away and a roast prepped for later.

we are going to the local county park for a walk before the rain sets in. Half term here so it’s nice not to have the usual Sunday uniform ironing and packed lunches to do.

frozendaisy · 26/10/2025 09:23

Morning all
feel better than yesterday
didn’t get any room prep done so will do today
roast dinner will also be made
so busy busy
will be assigning jobs if anyone thinks they have time to sit and chill today they are wrong

coffee first

Meadowfinch · 26/10/2025 09:24

Gardening while the sun is out. Sowing broad beans for next year, clearing the front flower borders and pruning hedges.

I have a kick boxing class this pm and then ironing probably. Cassoulet for supper.😊

gingercat02 · 26/10/2025 09:31

Morning all, standard Sunday morning here, breakfast and off to my PiYo class soon.
Home for lunch and a bit of a tidy up. Going to do my volunteering today, but will need to dig out some winter clothes as it looks very cold and windy.
Sausage and lentil casserole with garlic bread for tea and then the Mexican F1.

JurgenKloppsTeeth · 26/10/2025 09:31

Up and having a cup of tea after a friend’s birthday party last night. Not hungover (hurrah!) but didn’t sleep well so am tired. Long journey back today but am going to stop off somewhere pretty en route to break the journey. But first, breakfast!

Waitaminutewheresmejumper · 26/10/2025 09:44

Start of half term for me, such a nice feeling! Wash on when I got up with the cats at 6, then back to bed. Cleaning today then pub quiz for me and DD tonight. Not sure on food, possibly pasta. Going into school tomorrow to do some work, but not early so there will be wine tonight 🍷

kittiker · 26/10/2025 09:55

Morning all.

Feels like I've been up for hours! Had some fancy cinnamon toast that DS saw on YouTube and a couple of coffees. Lazy-ish morning with some Japanese study and a bit of Netflix. I'll grab a shower then we'll possibly start this jigsaw I've been mentioning for weeks! Or maybe a few boardgames. The weather is horrible here today.
This is the start of my really busy period at work so I'm also going to plan some wellbeing things and book them in so massages, saunas, yoga etc. I'm not always very good at looking after myself but I'm trying to get better.
DS is off for a playdate with dinner this afternoon so me and DH are going out for a Sunday lunch at a bougie local restaurant - can't wait. Then we'll just have a chilled out evening with some more Japanese thrown in for good measure. Have a lovely day everyone.

EllaPaella · 26/10/2025 09:57

We’re on holiday so all of us are going for a walk along the south west coast path in about an hour. When we get back we might go and do a bit of body boarding before we head out to the village pub for Sunday dinner. Perfect day really.

Itworkedout · 26/10/2025 09:57

morning all! I have dropped one dc off for sport. I’m not watching it’s their dads turn which I’m pleased about as it’s very cold here! Sunny though. I’ve made myself an omelette for breakfast. Youngest is still asleep. Roast chicken for dinner tonight. I did a lot of cleaning yesterday. Today I need to do a lot of studying! Have a good day all.

Thislittlekitten · 26/10/2025 10:04

Morning all.

I felt quite refreshed after having that extra hour in bed. Wish could have that every weekend.

Dog is walked, cats and himself fed. DS at his sport. DD in bed. I’ve done all the dishes and put a load on.

Im still trying to recover from this cold. Now my ears are blocked. It’s hanging on. Today plan to sort through laundry, organise uniforms ect. And read more of my book. from next weekend I think we have plans right up until Christmas so I’m going to try relax today.

Not sure about tea. I’d like something warming like casserole.

Rainbow1235 · 26/10/2025 10:44

Good morning all . I’m still sat down with a cuppa but will shift soon as doing a chicken dinner . Washing in tumbler and will quickly clean up then we will pop and see my son and his wife . Have a good and safe day 🫶

Topsy44 · 26/10/2025 11:17

Just about to go out with DD13 to go and see my Mum for the afternoon. Then home early evening for Strictly results and will do something with leftover chicken as I did a roast yesterday,
DD has an Inset day tomorrow and then back to school on Tuesday so I am wfh tomorrow which is a treat for me as I usually have to go in the office!

Crunchymum · 26/10/2025 11:29

Well we had grand plans today which have gone to shit.

We were meeting friends (who are visiting London) to do Sky Garden and HMS Belfast and then dinner but my DC2 still has an injured foot so we've had to make some changes.

DP and other 2 kids have gone off for HMS Belfast and we're going to attempt to join them in a few hours (Sky Garden is much less walking and if we get a Tube DC2 won't be on her sore foot too much) although then it's a bit of a trek to where we've booked for dinner.

I'm thinking it's best to just let DD rest her foot? I'm taking her to the GP tomorrow!!

We have done these things before so DD isn't missing out per se and the friends are actually DP's friends so that's why he has gone and I'm on foot injury duty (and if we don't go out I'll get her a cheeky Nandos for dinner) but I still feel a bit rubbish having to bail.

I've got a few hours to decide but I think we're going to stay home. No doubt I'll end up doing the ironing as I may as well make use of my time???

Bloody, fecking football (which is how DD hurt her foot)

Peridot1 · 26/10/2025 11:30

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone.

It feels like it’s been a long morning! I was up early for a 7am call with friends in Australia and New Zealand. I was glad it was the morning after the clocks went back as it didn’t feel too early. Had a lovely chat with my first cuppa. Then I went out for a walk. Lovely morning here - bright and sunny if cold.

Went to unload the dishwasher and realised I hadn’t put it on last night as it wasn’t full so that’s now on. Stripped DS’s bed and am just waiting for the machine to finish to hang it up to dry. About to go and remake his bed. Then I’m going to dust and vacuum my room which is a bit of a state.

Then I’m planning a long shower and put something comfy on and will spend the afternoon researching a tree to buy and reading my book.

Roast chicken for dinner.

DilemmaDelilah · 26/10/2025 11:31

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone. I've just been swimming and we have stopped off at McDonalds on the way home for an early lunch.

Mr Dilemma is cooking tonight.... Sainsburys had an offer on chickens (£2.67 with a nectar card) so we bought 3 to cook in advance and freeze for my birthday family lunch in a couple of weeks - then he said he really fancied roast chicken so he went back and bought another one. So he is cooking all 4 chickens this evening, and doing roast potatoes and veg to go with it. He loves cooking a roast so I'm very happy to let him get on with it.

I'm just going to make some more embroidered and beaded felt Christmas tree decorations. I need to do 6 for the family, I'm going to do 1 for Mr Dilemma's Christmas stocking, and I want to do 1 for my lovely massage lady. I did 2 yesterday so I have 6 left to do.

thereisajellyfish · 26/10/2025 11:45

Morning! It’s half term here so I don’t have the Sunday scaries which is wonderful. We’re off to do our weekly shop and then out for a walk down the canal and Sunday lunch at the pub.

Zippedydodah · 26/10/2025 11:49

Good morning (just!), it was a bright sunny dog walk first thing but now it’s clouding over, only 3° first thing.
I have done 2 loads of washing, tidied the kitchen and sorted out the fridge, emptied the bin and put away yesterday’s laundry.
Dh has gone to the village for his usual gossiping session with anyone who stands still long enough 🙄, dinner is sorted - ham hocks in cider, roast parsnips, new potatoes, Brussels sprouts, broad beans and peas (using up the nearly empty bits in the freezer) then baked apples and custard I think. I foraged the apples on yesterday’s dog walk.
Nothing planned for this afternoon but I will do a bit to a painting I started last week and probably an early bath with a book I think. My feet, hands and ankles are painful, it’s probably arthritis according to the doctor, oh joy …..
I hope you all have a pleasant evening 🌻

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 26/10/2025 20:19

Evening all - very late to the party! Hope everyone’s having a good day. I worked a 6 hour shift which was busy but not as manic as on Friday. Feeling a bit thrown by the time change which I always do. Also still under the weather with a throat infection & conjunctivitis, although the Optrex eye drops I bought yesterday are kicking in now. Just generally a bit run down. I need to get out in nature & buy myself a tonic. DH just moved the piano to dig out the battery cover for my lighthouse wall plaque - it’s now propped up on the music stand with its little light shining. Gives me such pleasure along with my other light up ornaments. We have the rabbit cages in the lounge as fireworks season has started 😢 Hopefully won’t be anything tonight as it’s raining & quite chilly. I had some bad news yesterday which is proving difficult to process but I am very lucky with my support network. It’s certainly put everything in perspective & made me appreciate anew the meaning of true love.m❤️ Tea is cooking (battered jumbo sausages, steakhouse chips & peas) & I’m half watching the Strictly results. Just spinning DH’s cycle gear as he’s had an hour on his indoor turbo bike. DD16 has been out for a soggy walk & sat with me for a chat, which was good. I might empty the dishwasher after we’ve eaten but then again, I might say sod it & wait til the morning!
