Vulva soreness despite oestrogen pessaries

Using vagifem, but recently have stinging around the lips of my labia, plus the perineum. Am 61, had an early menopause (early 40s), never did HRT. Might I need more topical oestrogen?

I’ve had similar. It was initially diagnosed (during lockdown so was a telephone appointment and I wasn’t seen) as being vaginal atrophy and prescribed oestrogen pessaries. I wasn’t totally convinced as it was external rather than internal if you get my drift. The pessaries were ineffective. I plodded along with itchy bits driving me insane for a couple of years which I attempted to treat with various otc creams. When I finally made a gp appointment face to face it transpired it was severe eczema and needed a strong steroid and emollients which worked but I have to keep using the emollients or it comes back.
