For those who have had ivf- did you take time off work?

Just that really. Due to start treatment very soon and wondering if I need time off. I work in a very high pressure job and already feel stressed/anxious/worried about the treatment on top of everything else

Not really. I work a physical job, so during the week before egg collection I was careful about heavy lifting; again during the 2WW. Not ridiculously so, just sensibly.

There's no good evidence stress has a detrimental effect. It is one of the patronising things they say to you, to make you feel as if you have control. But it's really stupid.

Not me personally but I manage 2 women who have gone through IVF, one of them took no time off at all, the other one took the day of egg retrieval & day after off.

I do think it depends on your job role really. If a job requires you to be on your feet and working manually for 12 hours a day you’re more likely to need time off than if you have a 9-5 office job.

Oh, @Jellybunny56 is right, you need the day off for egg collection. You're not meant to drive after, and some people are fine but I was out of it both times; they tell you you ought to have someone with you and be at home, just in case. So I would book that one off. Transfer is, oddly, much easier.
